Summary

• This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all persons, equipment, and physical property of Mosaic Life Care.
• This position Officer works under the supervision of the Director, and is employed by Mosaic Health System.

Duties

• Conducting patrols of thebuildings and grounds, ensuring adequate access control and protection ofcaregivers and all Mosaic Life Care properties, and able to respond to an armedthreat, and bring a safe resolution to the threat or situation..
• Conducting inspections ofthe facilities looking for unsafe acts and/or conditions, which threaten lifesafety.
• Able to operate in astressful environment where person/persons have experienced life threatinginjuries and death.
• Controlling personsexperiencing behavior that is unacceptable via non-violent physical crisisintervention techniques (CPI) or the approved Force Continuum action, or otheraccepted practices dependent upon the circumstances.
• Participating in positivepublic relations activities by providing assistance with information,directions, and vehicles management.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma, GED or HiSET equivalent required. Two years college preferably in criminal justice, or Fire Safety and or Post Certified Police Academy preferred. All required education is a minimum requirement. Higher levels of education are acceptable.
• 2 years Position dealing with thepublic, preferably in the Law Enforcement, Fire Safety, Military Security,Federal (DHS Department of Homeland Security) is required.
• Chauffeurs license orability to obtain valid chauffeur's driver`s license within 90 days of hire is required.
  Minimum Class E ChauffeursDriver's Licensewithin 90 days of hire is required.
  Heart Saver certificationwithin 90 days of hire is required.
  Crisis PreventionIntervention (CPI)within 90 days of hire is required.
• HAZMAT Training within 90 days is required.
  Handcuffing and Batonwithin 90 days is required.
  Must complete theInternational Association of Hospital Safety and Security basic SecurityOfficer Exam is preferred.
