Job summary

Jim Coleman Automotive in Bethesda, MD is seeking an experienced Maryland State Inspector to join our busy reconditioning team. You will perform Maryland State Safety Inspections and help maintain high standards of vehicle safety and quality.

Qualified candidates have an active Maryland State Inspector license, solid automotive technician experience, and the ability to work on multiple brands in a fast-paced dealership environment. We offer competitive pay and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Maryland State Inspector license currently held and active.
• Experience as an automotive technician/service professional.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to service multiple vehicle brands.
• Ability to work in a high-volume shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform Maryland State Safety Inspections in accordance with state requirements
• Inspect vehicles for safety, mechanical, and operational concerns
• Identify and document necessary repairs
• Perform maintenance and mechanical repairs as needed
• Support used vehicle and reconditioning operations
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-production shop
• Maintain accurate inspection and repair documentation
• Follow dealership, manufacturer, and safety procedures
• Work on a variety of vehicle makes and models

Jim Coleman Automotive is looking for an experienced Maryland Licensed State Inspector (MSI) to join our Bethesda campus and reconditioning team.

What You'll Do

As a Maryland State Inspector, you will perform Maryland State Safety Inspections while supporting our high-volume service and reconditioning operation.

• Perform Maryland State Safety Inspections in accordance with state requirements
• Inspect vehicles for safety, mechanical, and operational concerns
• Identify and document necessary repairs
• Perform maintenance and mechanical repairs as needed
• Support used vehicle and reconditioning operations
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-production shop
• Maintain accurate inspection and repair documentation
• Follow dealership, manufacturer, and safety procedures
• Work on a variety of vehicle makes and models

What We're Looking For

• Current Maryland State Inspector license required
• Automotive technician/service experience
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work on multiple vehicle brands
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Toyota or Nissan training/certification is a plus
• Additional ASE or manufacturer certifications are a plus
