We are hiring Registered Nurses (RNs) at Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, part of UofL Health, for the Adult Chemical Dependency Unit, 3B.

Location: 1850 Bluegrass Ave. Louisville, KY 40215

Shift: 7p-7a, Full-time

Position Overview

The RN will provide nursing care to adult patients in a psychiatric and detox setting, following nursing standards and utilizing the nursing process. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, administering medications, planning and implementing care, evaluating patient responses, and collaborating with the care team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive assessments and ensure patient safety.
  • Administer and monitor medications, adhering to safety guidelines.
  • Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients and families.
  • Implement nursing interventions to meet patient needs.
  • Evaluate care outcomes and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Educate patients and families, ensuring understanding and compliance.
  • Advocate for patient rights and coordinate discharge planning.
  • Supervise and collaborate with healthcare team members.
Additional Expectations
  • Maintain professional conduct and appearance.
  • Orient new staff and supervise students.
  • Participate in continuing education and evidence-based practices.
  • Communicate effectively within the team and resolve conflicts appropriately.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, including HIPAA compliance.
Shift Details

Typical shifts are 8-12 hours, with flexibility depending on departmental needs. Overtime may be required occasionally.

Qualifications

UofL Health accepts a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license in lieu of Kentucky licensure. Candidates must meet state licensing requirements and possess relevant nursing experience.
