Position: Martial Arts Instructor

Assist in providing quality karate experiences for adults and youth. The instructor will teach various karate classes focusing on adults and children aged 5-15 years. Knowledge of martial arts and experience working with children are preferred. Classes are held at the PC MARC during the week with flexible hours.

Typical Job Duties:

  • Prepare curriculum and progression plans supporting long-term skill development.
  • Set up, greet participants, provide clear instructions, and clean up after classes.
  • Educate participants on proper and safe karate techniques.
  • Enforce policies and procedures in activity areas.
  • Provide exceptional customer service before, during, and after classes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility, equipment, and report maintenance issues beyond personal capability.
  • Arrive on time, dressed appropriately, and prepared to teach.
  • Maintain attendance records and submit rosters post-session.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, participants, and guardians regarding progress and needs.

Experience:

  • Black belt in a recognized karate discipline or equivalent experience (preferred)
  • CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain
  • Certifications in related martial arts disciplines
  • Previous teaching experience in martial arts
