Job summary

Marsh invites rising seniors to join the Risk Early Career Program Summer Internship for 2027 in Atlanta, Boston, Miami and Washington DC. The 10-week hybrid program lets interns work with senior advisors and brokers to help clients identify risks and learn insurance broking.

You'll gain hands-on experience, participate in mentorships, and deliver a capstone presentation to leadership. If you demonstrate strong performance, a full-time offer may follow after graduation.

Qualifications

• Graduation date between Fall 2027 and Spring 2028.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Liberal Arts, Finance, Risk Management and Insurance, or another STEM-related or Business-related major.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
• Ability to communicate effectively and build positive working relationships with people from different backgrounds and perspectives.
• Legal work authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without sponsorship (U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder).

Responsibilities

• Assist with researching industry trends, market developments, and topics that inform client or team discussions.
• Collaborate with brokers and team members to support communication and coordination with clients and internal partners.
• Support day-to-day projects and assignments while developing knowledge of insurance markets, client service, and risk management.
• Participate in team meetings, client discussions, and other learning opportunities to gain exposure to the insurance broking process.
• Contribute to special projects and team initiatives throughout the internship.

Marsh Risk Early Career Program, Summer Intern 2027 - Brokerage - East Market.

We are seeking talented individuals to join our Marsh Early Career Program Summer Internship, part of our Risk business at Marsh. These roles will be based in Atlanta, Boston, Miami and Washington DC with an anticipated start in June 2027. These are hybrid roles that have a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Join Marsh's Early Career Program as a Summer Intern, a 10-week experience where interns will work directly with senior advisors and brokers to help clients identify risks to their people, property, or financial and strategic goals, offering hands‑on experience in risk management and insurance broking.

As part of our program benefits, you will have a vibrant cohort community and dedicated program team to provide learning and development opportunities, a mentorship program, exposure to senior leaders, and valuable networking opportunities. You'll end your internship with a summer capstone presentation, giving you the opportunity to apply what you've learned and present your work to your team and senior leadership.

Within Marsh Risk, the Brokerage Practice is integral in helping clients manage and reduce risks in real‑world scenarios like medical pandemics, music festival liabilities, and financial scandals. You'll collaborate with clients to assess risks, build relationships with insurance companies, and secure competitive insurance quotes using your negotiation skills, making a significant impact in helping clients minimize their overall risk costs in today's world. Upon completing the summer internship, exceptional juniors may be offered an offer to join our full‑time program at Marsh.

Available Teams

Construction – Miami. The Construction team assesses risk, develops risk management strategies, and implements insurance programs for construction firms, general contractors, and project service providers to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Cyber – Atlanta. The Cyber team assists clients in managing cyber risks and enhancing their resilience by assessing risks, comparing potential losses, evaluating cybersecurity measures, and analyzing cyber insurance options.

Energy & Power – Boston. The Energy & Power team offers innovative solutions to manage the risks of natural resource energy, renewable energy, power, and utility companies.

FINPRO – Atlanta, Washington DC. The FINPRO (Financial and Professional Liability) team provides insurance and risk management solutions to financial and professional service firms, focusing on areas like Directors & Officers Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Crime, and Kidnap & Ransom, often working with upper management and C‑Suite Executives to secure coverage and mitigate risks.

Property – Atlanta. The Property team protects individuals and businesses from financial losses resulting from damage or loss of their physical property, such as buildings, homes, personal belongings, and other assets.

We will count on you to:

What you need to have:

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate for these roles is $25/hr. Please note that this rate is standardized per location and not subject to negotiation. In addition, we offer:
