Under general supervision, the Marriage and Family Therapist II (licensed) provides counseling, psychotherapy, case management, and treatment services in a counseling center, clinic, or institutional setting.
This is a posting to fill vacant positions that may be filled in the classifications of Marriage and Family Therapist I (associate), Marriage and Family Therapist II (licensed), Psychiatric Social Worker I (associate), or Psychiatric Social Worker II (licensed). Candidates need only to apply to one of these four postings for which they qualify to be considered. Additionally, this posting will create a list that will be used to fill vacancies for the following month. Qualified applicants will remain on the list for one month and will be referred to available vacancies. To be considered for future opportunities, applicants must reapply each month to be placed on the eligible list for the following month.
This open recruitment may be used to fill full-time and/or part-time positions in: Ambulatory Primary Care Behavioral Health, Custody Health Services, and Office of Supportive Housing . Please select all the locations you would like to work in the supplemental questions.
Ambulatory Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) provides on-site, outpatient counseling services to patients receiving their primary medical care at one of Ambulatory’s several Valley Health Center locations. Marriage and Family Therapist II and Psychiatric Social Worker II in this role collaborate with medical doctors, psychologists, and psychiatrists to provide brief, solution-focused care for mild to moderate mental health needs.
Custody Health Services (CHS) provides medical, mental health, and dental services to patients in custody at the 3 County Jail facilities: Main Jail, Elmwood and Juvenile Detention facilities. CHS provides on-site routine and urgent/emergent medical services at both Main Jail and Elmwood adult detention facilities in Santa Clara County. Health care of incarcerated men and women includes care of acute and chronic illness as well as preventative and specialty care. CHS also runs a 39 single-bed acute psychiatric inpatient housing unit at the Main Jail. The services are provided for adult male and female patients requiring acute inpatient stabilization services. Juvenile Custody Health provides integrated medical services to justice-involved youth housed in Juvenile Hall and James Ranch, including comprehensive pediatric medical, mental health, and dental care. Some positions may require working in a locked facility, which requires passing an extensive background check for security clearance.
Office of Supportive Housing (OSH) provides Supportive Services to clients with a history of chronic homelessness and disability. Support Services include intensive case management and a rental subsidy. Clients reside in Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) developments or rent from private landlords in the community. PSH clients include families, transition-age youth, older adults and individuals. Supportive Services clinical team provides behavioral health support to PSH clients which can include individual, family, and couples therapy services. PSH clinical team provides community-based work by meeting clients at their housing placements or in other locations in the community. Clinicians collaborate with the PSH case managers to support clients. PSH clinicians can also collaborate with the Valley Homeless Healthcare Program (VHHP) to access psychology, psychiatry, and other specialty medicine disciplines.

CANDIDATES HIRED MAY BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE A SIGN-ON BONUS OF UP TO $5,000.
A new hire or a regular coded full-time or part-time employee who is hired into, transfers, or promotes in the Marriage and Family Therapist or Psychiatric Social Worker classifications may be eligible to receive a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 (subject to discontinuation at any time).
In addition to sign-on bonus, this classification is scheduled to receive salary range increases on the following dates:

It was founded in 1889 as one of the first hospitals in the county. OCH has grown significantly over the past five years in both its inpatient volume and its Emergency Department visits. Along with these volume increases other ancillary and clinical departments like imaging, lab, pharmacy, and respiratory have seen growth as well.
St. Louise Regional Hospital - Since 1989, St. Louise Regional Hospital (SLRH) has been caring for the residents in Santa Clara and San Benito Counties, offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient medical specialties. SLRH has 93 beds, is a Designated Primary Stroke Center, and is the only acute care hospital in the area. Located in Gilroy, SLRH maintains a CALSTAR 2 emergency helicopter base on the premises.
