Job summary

VanEck's MarketVector Index Operations Summer Intern sits within the MarketVector Indexes unit in New York, NY. The internship spans 10 weeks, June 7 to August 13, offering exposure to a global Index Operations team and other departments.

You will assist on data acquisition, index operations projects, and learn about trends, reporting, and use of advanced analytics tools. Strong communication and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong data handling and analysis capabilities.
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken); additional languages a plus.
• Programming skills in Python, R, SQL, or VBA focused on automation and data processing.
• Knowledge of Capital Markets and related instruments.

Responsibilities

• Stay current on index industry trends, news, and events.
• Prepare regular index statistics, reports, and competitive intelligence.

MarketVector Indexes (MarketVector), a subsidiary of VanEck, develops and maintains the MarketVector, MVIS and BlueStar Index families, a wide range of more than 200 investable benchmark indices. Our index solutions span digital assets, fixed income and equities, with strengths in hard assets, emerging markets, ESG and disruptive thematic indexes. Our family of indexes cover targeted asset class exposures as well as dynamic multi-asset strategies using a rules‑based index framework.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual interested in learning about all aspects of a fast‑paced, innovative index business. You will work with a global Index Operations team and also have exposure to the daily tasks at other key departments (Strategy, Sales, Marketing, Research, Product Management) within MarketVector.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist in projects related to data acquisition, quality assurance and data consistency.

Qualifications

• Excellent data skills
• Familiarity with standard Software (MS Office, especially Excel)
• Team player with good communication skills
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and other languages are a plus
• Proficiency in programming languages (Python, R, SQL, or VBA) with a focus on automation and data processing
• Capital Markets knowledge

Education And/or Experience

• Currently entering junior level (3rd year) or beyond within a 4‑year college program
• Some experience within a corporate environment is helpful but not required

Compensation

• The maximum hourly rate for this position is $25 an hour
