General Summary:
The Marketing Videographer (“MV”) films and edits the majority of polished, public-facing video pieces used by UMass Boston’s Division of Marketing & Engagement to market the university programs, efforts, and brand. Under the leadership of the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Marketing and Engagement (“AVC”), as part of the division’s marketing department and in collaboration with the division’s departments of communications, creative services, and website services, the MV strives to create final video pieces of professional quality that are persuasive and visually stunning.
The MV is adept at gathering dynamic video and sound in the field, marrying it seamlessly with existing video assets, and editing with an eye for detail as well as a focus on quick turnaround. Final video pieces are scripted and unscripted, ranging from 15 to 30-second social media spots to 3-minute-plus interview and narrated videos. Pieces live on channels including the official university website, Youtube, social media, and connect TV.

MV may be required to work occasionally outside of business hours in order to capture video, including rare night and weekend assignments, with business-day time flexed accordingly.
