Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a Marketing Technical Editor to join our Marketing team in Pullman, WA. The role involves editing a wide range of content and collaborating with engineers, writers, and designers to ensure technical accuracy and clear communication.

The ideal candidate has a degree in English or technical communications, strong proofreading and editing skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• You have a degree in English, technical communications, or a related area.
• Advanced proofreading, writing, grammar, and communications skills.
• Work experience as a technical editor, a copyeditor, or a similar role that involves writing or editing technical content.
• Ability to work under limited supervision in high‑pressure situations and meet stringent deadlines.
• Ability to receive and incorporate editorial and technical feedback into editing processes.

Responsibilities

• Copyediting or proofreading a solution flyer, webpage, email, technical paper, or presentation to meet grammar, punctuation, and company style standards.
• Collaborating with subject matter experts, designers, and writers to ensure content is accurate and clear.
• Rewriting content to align with SEL tone and voice, brand philosophy, and goals.
• Collaborating with other editors to meet deadlines and ensure consistency across projects.
