Job summary

ABOUT THE ROLE

WEOKIE Federal Credit Union is looking for a Marketing Specialist – Content & Communications to join our Marketing team.

We're looking for a great writer who also thinks like a marketer. Someone who can take a product, service, or promotion, figure out what matters most to the audience, and turn that information into clear, compelling messaging that gets people's attention and encourages them to take action.

This is a hands-on position with a strong emphasis on marketing copywriting, email marketing, digital communications, and social media. You'll work closely with our Marketing team to develop and execute campaigns, create content across multiple channels, and help us find better ways to connect with members and prospective members.

The ideal candidate is creative, curious, organized, and comfortable juggling multiple projects. Someone who asks questions, understands the why behind what we're doing, brings ideas to the table, and takes ownership of their work.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Write, edit, and proof compelling marketing copy for emails, websites, advertising, social media, campaigns, and other member-facing communications.
• Turn product features, services, and promotions into clear, benefit-focused messaging with strong headlines and calls to action.
• Develop, build, proof, schedule, and distribute marketing emails, collaborating on messaging, audience segmentation, and campaign performance.
• Manage day-to-day social media content, including planning, writing, scheduling, publishing, and monitoring engagement.
• Create basic social graphics, photography, video, and other content as needed.
• Collaborate with the Marketing team on campaign strategy, messaging, creative execution, and performance tracking.
• Help coordinate marketing projects, timelines, deliverables, and communication with internal departments and external partners.
• Use analytics and performance insights to evaluate results and identify opportunities to improve messaging, content, and campaigns.
• Provide basic graphic design and layout support for digital and print materials while maintaining WEOKIE's brand standards.
• Review marketing materials for accuracy, consistency, disclosures, and applicable compliance requirements.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Strong marketing copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills.
• The ability to write persuasive, consumer-focused messaging that communicates value and encourages action.
• Working knowledge of email marketing, digital marketing, social media, website content, and campaign execution.
• Experience with basic graphic design, content creation, and layout.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and changing priorities.
• Someone who takes initiative, asks thoughtful questions, and can move projects forward independently while knowing when to seek input.
• Good marketing judgment and an understanding of how audience needs, business objectives, and performance results influence marketing decisions.
• A collaborative, positive approach and the ability to receive and apply feedback.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or similar design tools.
• Experience with HubSpot, Asana, marketing automation platforms, or AI-assisted marketing tools is a plus.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Journalism, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and 1–3 years of relevant marketing experience.
