Job description

What this role looks like

Sawtooth Software is known in the market research industry as the best in the world at choice analytics (product optimization, pricing research, and more). Hundreds of well-known companies around the world (Google, Microsoft, Honda, P&G, 3M, etc.) use our software for product development, pricing research, and market simulations. For most of our history, our reputation has spread by word of mouth, with very little formal marketing behind it. We're working to change that. We're looking for a hands-on marketer who's ready to take the lead on day-to-day marketing, learn fast, and help more researchers find what we build.

Responsibilities

Email and campaigns

  • Build and send email campaigns, newsletters, and event invitations in HubSpot.
  • Manage lists, segments, and simple automated sequences.
  • Track opens, clicks, and conversions, and report on what's working and what isn't.

Content

  • Work with our research experts to write and edit content for our website, blog, LinkedIn, and email, converting their knowledge into content people want to read.
  • Use AI tools to work faster without lowering the bar on quality.

Events and webinars

  • Coordinate webinars, free trainings, and industry conference sponsorships.
  • Handle tradeshow and industry event promotion, logistics, and follow-up to help generate and track leads and conversions.

Website

  • Keep our website current, build landing pages, and apply basic SEO practices.

Go-to-market with sales and product

  • Help plan and run launches for new Lighthouse Studio and Discover features, including announcements, launch emails, and release notes.
  • Create and update sales materials such as one-pagers, case studies, slide decks, and demo leave-behinds.
  • Help gather customer feedback and competitive information, and share what you learn with sales and product.

Measurement and planning

  • Maintain a simple dashboard of marketing results and track spend against budget.
  • Bring ideas to the table, own projects from start to finish, and help shape the annual marketing plan.
Room to grow

This role is positioned to grow and expand. As you show results, you'll take on more strategy, more budget, and have a bigger voice in where Sawtooth's marketing goes next. As our marketing grows, we want you to grow with it.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Self-motivated, with the discipline to manage your own time and juggle several projects at once.
  • Comfortable with numbers: reading campaign metrics, working in spreadsheets, and drawing conclusions from data.
  • Clear communicator who works well with sales, product, and technical experts.
  • Curious and quick to learn, including on technical subjects.

Preferred

  • 1 to 3 years of marketing experience. Internships, agency work, freelance projects, and student roles all count.
  • Experience with HubSpot or a similar marketing automation platform.
  • Experience using AI tools to make marketing work more efficient.
  • Experience with design tools such as Canva, Figma, or Adobe.
  • Experience with a website CMS such as WordPress.
  • Exposure to B2B or software marketing.
  • Interest in market research, statistics, or survey design. Familiarity with conjoint analysis or MaxDiff is a plus.
Why Join Us?
  • Make a real impact early in your career: Most entry-level marketers spend years as a small piece of a big team. Here, your work will shape how the market sees a company with a 40-year reputation and a new chapter ahead.
  • Learn from experts: Work alongside product managers, developers, designers, sales, support, and some of the most respected researchers in choice analytics.
  • Drive growth for an innovative product: Help us tell the world about Sawtooth and our modern, easy-to-use, and powerful survey platforms (see https://sawtooth.com/discover). Customers love us, and your work will be central to our growth.
  • Join a collaborative and supportive environment: Be part of a company culture that values collaboration, kindness, and work-life balance. We keep things friendly, and every team member's voice is heard.
Benefits
  • Great work-life balance with a 40-hour workweek.
  • Hybrid work from home and our Provo office (not fully remote).
  • Paid time off that increases based on tenure.
  • Eight paid holidays per year and one floating holiday.
  • Company-paid health insurance. We cover 100% of the health insurance premiums for you and your family on our chosen plan.
  • Generous annual Health Savings Account contributions made by the company (currently $2,700 for individuals and $5,400 for families).
  • Great retirement plan. Employer contribution up to 15% of annual compensation to a SEP account, with no match requirements, based on company profitability. Starts the first year with immediate vesting. Feel free to ask about the details.
