Job description

Resource Innovations is seeking a Marketing Specialist to support utility energy efficiency programs on our growing team in Chicago. In this role, you will coordinate campaign timelines, customer communications, outreach materials, and event support for programs that help customers participate in energy-saving offerings.

Resource Innovations is a women-led energy transformation firm focused on impact. Building on our expertise in energy efficiency, we're constantly expanding our portfolio of clean energy solutions to guide utilities through increasingly complex, connected challenges. Load flexibility. Electrification. Carbon reduction. With every step, we're leading the charge to power change.

Are you a proactive communicator who thrives on thoroughness, detail, and keeping work organized when multiple projects and priorities are in play? As a Marketing Specialist supporting energy efficiency programs, you’ll help coordinate campaign plans, track deliverables, draft and route customer communications, and keep project details moving across internal and external teams.

You’ll collaborate with program delivery teams, clients, contractors, creative partners, and outreach partners to coordinate marketing campaigns, customer emails, website and social updates, presentations, direct mail, event signage, and meeting materials. You’ll play a hands‑on role in managing project requests and timelines, asking the right questions, and making sure deliverables are clear, timely, and aligned with evolving program needs. This role is ideal for someone who is detail‑oriented, resourceful, and highly organized in balancing multiple perspectives and priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Marketing Project Coordination: Coordinate day‑to‑day marketing projects from request through completion, including opening project requests, maintaining schedules and status trackers, following up on outstanding inputs and approvals, and helping ensure deliverables stay on track. Use tools such as Wrike and Smartsheet to manage deadlines, dependencies, and project details.

Campaign & Communications Execution: Support the development and execution of marketing campaigns across email, website, social media, direct mail, print, presentations, events, and other channels. Coordinate inputs, creative development, reviews, approvals, production, and deployment.

Content Development & Quality Control: Review and provide feedback to customer emails, website content, outreach materials, and other marketing content. Proofread materials for accuracy, consistency, brand alignment, and adherence to client requirements before materials are released.

Creative & Production Coordination: Work with internal and external creative partners to communicate project requirements, provide necessary content and background, consolidate feedback, route revisions, and confirm final materials meet project specifications.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with program delivery teams, clients, contractors, outreach teams, and other partners to gather information and translate program needs into clear marketing requests and deliverables. Ask questions to clarify objectives, audiences, timing, requirements, and next steps.

Customer Journey Support: Support communications throughout the customer experience, including awareness and outreach, program participation, transactional communications, follow‑up, and post‑program engagement. Help identify gaps or opportunities to make communications clearer and easier for customers to navigate.

Campaign Tracking & Reporting: Assist with tracking campaign activity and results, including email engagement, website activity, event participation, and other available performance metrics. Compile results and support development of client reports, presentations, and recommendations for future efforts.

Event & Meeting Support: Coordinate marketing support for virtual and in‑person meetings, trainings, webinars, and events, including invitations, registration communications, presentations, signage, handouts, attendee materials, and pre‑ and post‑event communications.

Marketing Operations & Organization: Maintain organized project files, campaign calendars, contact lists, approved materials, and other marketing resources. Help ensure teams are working from current information and final approved materials.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Proactive mindset with strong organizational skills. You take initiative, ask clarifying questions, and follow through without needing significant oversight.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly to a range of audiences.
