Job summary

Auto-Owners Insurance is seeking a Marketing Representative to travel within the Wisconsin area, train agencies, and help grow business. After initial in-person training, a merit-based work-from-home schedule may be offered based on responsibilities.

The role requires 3+ years in property/casualty insurance, strong communication, data organization, and a drive to develop product knowledge through approved programs. Travel and collaboration are key components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of property/casualty insurance experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organize data and multitask independently.

Responsibilities

• Travel regularly to agencies within the assigned territory to generate business and conduct training.
• Communicate marketing plans to agents to expand product usage and profitability.
• Assist agents’ advertising and promotion activities.
• Prospect and appoint new agencies.
• Prepare daily marketing activity reports for management.
• Learn various insurance coverages and contracts to make sound decisions.
• Analyze loss experience and risk characteristics of accounts.
• Communicate with associates, independent agents, CSRs and other service organizations clearly.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

3+ years P/C insurance experience

• Live within the serviving coutines of Waukesha, Milwaukee, Walworth, Racine or Kenosha.
• Travel regularly to agencies throughout assigned territory to generate business, conduct training, and perform all essential marketing functions.
• Communicate marketing plans to agents to ensure the expanded use of Company products and services that will provide profitable growth.
• Assist agents’ advertising and promotion activities.
• Prospect and recommend the appointment of new agencies.
• Prepare daily marketing activity reports for management.
• Learn various insurance coverages and contracts along with Company philosophy and procedures, in order to make sound decisions.
• Analyze loss experience, financial conditions and physical characteristics of risks.
• Communicate with companyassociates, independent agents, CSRs and other insurance service organizations effectively and clearly.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 3 years of property/casualty insurance experience with personal and commercial line coverages.
• Ability to organize data, multi-task and make decisions independently.
• Above average communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to resolve complex issues.
• An interest in developing product knowledge through participation in approved educational programs.
