POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and planning marketing projects, managing resources and facilitating details related to creative campaigns, digital communication properties, brand marketing and program assets, and other marketing-related tasks. Duties include timeline, task and budget management. The ideal candidate has marketing, fund development and project management experience, a creative and strategic mindset, and will provide necessary communication and project cohesion to advance the mission of the organization.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the management of brand marketing and communication assets facilitating clear communication across disciplines.
  • Ensure that the fundraising, communication, merchandise, professional development, and programming teams have on-time, on-budget, on-brand assets, collateral and campaigns to support key initiatives and revenue goals and are aligned with the vision and goals outlined by the subject matter expert.
  • Work directly with marketing and merchandise teams to identify project scope and related tasks, lead documentation in the organization’s project management software and serve as main point person to provide status updates.
  • Collaborate with the Partnerships + Development team to prioritize the development of National Partner and sponsor cultivation, stewardship, campaigns and conference collateral needs, ensuring that the vision and goals are executed as requested.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to manage and oversee relationships with external contractors such as photographers, videographers and marketing agencies.
  • Develop and manage the project request process for GOTR HQ and councils, ensuring on-time deliverables.
  • Manage projects from conceptualization to completion, working closely with marketing team members on concept development through execution.
  • Act as a bridge between fund development and marketing needs, owning key fundraising marketing campaigns including end-of-year giving. Collaborate with the Communications Manager on fundraising messaging and appeals.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for marketing related support for councils, managing the marketing@girlsontherun.org support system.
  • Act as marketing lead for Council Portal management. Own Marketing and Communications content sections, managing uploading and QA of new document releases and page updates. Acting as an HQ consultant for cross-departmental support, as a secondary resource to the technology team.
  • Copyediting and copywriting support as needed.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a Girls on the Run role model, exhibiting GOTR core values and working to help achieve the GOTR mission.
  • Develop positive relationships with national partners, council directors, volunteers, board members, community members and staff.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by the Vice President of Marketing and Communications.

*While this position is remote, residency in one of the following states is required: CA, CT, FL, GA, IL, LA, NC, OR, PA, RI, SC, TX, VA, WA, WI, WY.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications or related field with a minimum of three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and leading complex and cross-departmental projects from concept to completion, ensuring regular and clear status updates while facilitating reviews and revision process.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a customer-first attitude, willing to go above and beyond to bring assistance and support to our council network.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate vision and strategy into actions and results.
  • Proven attention to detail and project management skills.
  • Highly organized and proactive, with the ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks and projects at a time and deliver within deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working in a collaborative environment.
  • Must be goal-oriented, self-motivated, creative, highly-flexible and able to accept feedback.
