Job summary

Principal Financial Group seeks a detail‑oriented digital designer to join the Marketing Operations & Technology team. You’ll craft branded email experiences in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, balancing visual design with front‑end production work to ensure accessibility and brand alignment.

You’ll translate briefs into on‑brand digital communications, design web/app banners, and create production‑ready assets while collaborating with designers, PMs, data partners, and deployment teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, digital design, or equivalent.
• 2+ years of professional design experience with strong visual design and multi-channel execution.
• Working knowledge of HTML and CSS; experience building or editing marketing emails.
• Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Content Builder, or similar platforms.
• High attention to detail for brand consistency, accuracy and production readiness.
• Ability to take direction, apply feedback, and improve designs through review cycles.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong collaboration with designers, PMs, marketers, developers and data teams.
• Willingness to learn new tools, workflows, automation, and AI-assisted practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and build branded digital communications in Salesforce Marketing Cloud focusing on enterprise email design.
• Translate briefs into on-brand, accessible email and digital designs.
• Use typography, color, layout to create clear, readable communications aligned with brand.
• Refine assets including banners, graphics, charts, and social assets.
• Create production-ready assets with Photoshop, Illustrator, and related tools.
• Test emails for accuracy, accessibility, responsiveness, and rendering across platforms.
• Apply WCAG 2.2 AA practices for inclusive digital communications.
• Work within brand standards, design systems, templates, and reusable components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
