Job Title: Marketing Operations Specialist
Hours/Week: 40 hours per week with more hours required as needed
Location: Varies - Remote work possible, preference for close proximity to New Hampton, IA.
FLSA Status: Salary Exempt
Reports To: Marketing Director
Job Objective:
The Marketing Operations Specialist is a key contributor responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and integrating marketing and technology platforms to support cross-functional business objectives. This position combines strategic thinking with technical execution, focusing on data integration, project management, and platform optimization across ERP, CRM, and other key systems.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can lead cross-functional initiatives with minimal supervision, and is passionate about technology that enhances both internal processes and customer experience.
Incumbent maintains efficiency in a manner that will optimize the cooperative’s market share and savings, improve the cooperative’s efficiency, help achieve the cooperative’s mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service.
This position will maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the location, as well as within the cooperative and upholds a favorable image of Five Star Cooperative at all times.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Marketing, Business, Accounting, or related field
Experience:
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills necessary
- Proven project management experience and the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- 3+ years of experience in data integration, marketing operations, or related technical role.
- Can understand and work on complex problems requiring a deep understanding of multiple sources of data to make a recommendation.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Experience with API integration, data mapping, and BI/reporting tools
- Ability to make independent decisions that align with business goals
Preferred Experience:
- Agriculture background
- Expertise with AgVance ERP
License, Certificate, or Registration: Valid driver’s license

Essential Tasks
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Serve as a technical and functional resource across departments
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and deliverables for software integration and process improvement projects
- Identify and recommend tech solutions that enhance business efficiency or customer experience
Software & Data Management
- Oversee integrations with APIs, including field mapping and vendor coordination
- Maintain data hygiene across platforms; ensure database integrity and standardization
- Use data analysis tools (e.g., BI platforms) to generate actionable insights and reports
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as a liaison between departments, external vendors, and customers for technology implementations
- Drive internal adoption and create SOPs, documentation, and training materials
- Support and assist customer-facing technology initiatives
Customer (Internal and External) Service & Training
- Provide timely support and troubleshooting for tech stack issues
- Lead end-user training and promote technology best practices
- Identify gaps in adoption/utilization and lead improvement strategies
- Exhibits superior project management across departments
- Requires data fluency including ERP, API calls and field mapping, BI reporting, etc.
- Requires strong analytical skills, with the ability to draw insights from data
- Enforce and abide by all cooperative policies
- Enforce and uphold the cooperative’s credit policy
- Assists with recordkeeping and filing needs
- Good communication with all employees and customers
Maintenance & Safety:
- Observe OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations
- Maintains company compliance, enters any compliance data and completes monthly preventative maintenance schedules.
- Operates trucks and equipment safely
- Receives no OSHA, state, or federal citations
- Receives no valid customer complaints concerning driving
- Reports any incidents to supervisor immediately
- Maintain clean and neat facilities
- Maintains housekeeping and sanitation standards
- Upholds Five Star’s Safety regulations and procedures
Service and Skills:
- Excellent customer service required – Applicant must be neat and approachable
- Handles customer complaints smoothly – notifies supervisor of any problems and strives to solve any problems quickly, either personally or through communication with the supervisor.
- Excellent telephone skills – applicant must promptly and courteously answer the phone
- Requires acute attention to detail
- Requires making decisions that affect customers, other employees, Five Star Coop’s financial resources, and/or the image and reputation of the organization
