Marketing Manager, Random House (Open to Remote)

Title Marketing at Random House seeks an experienced and dynamic Marketing Manager to lead title-specific marketing campaigns for both frontlist and backlist, with a particular focus on trade paperback priorities for Random House, Hogarth, Modern Library, The Dial Press, and One World. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Marketing for Random House, this position will collaborate closely with the larger Marketing, Editorial, and Publicity teams.

Random House is a division of Penguin Random House, the world's largest trade book publisher. We are home to bestselling authors and a diverse range of titles designed to inspire, entertain, and educate. Our authors include Brene Brown, Jon Meacham, Hanif Abdurraqib, Glennon Doyle, Isabel Wilkerson, Kurt Vonnegut, Ibram X. Kendi, Salman Rushdie, among others.

The marketing manager will work closely with sales, publicity, editorial and the consumer insights teams at Penguin Random House and Random House Publishing Group title marketers on key opportunity titles and brand authors across multiple imprints.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about books and skilled in crafting and executing innovative marketing strategies to continually find new audiences for core trade paperback and backlist titles.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Campaign Development: Ideate, develop, and execute innovative and data-driven marketing plans for individual titles and series. Adapt strategies based on market data, consumer trends, and performance metrics.
  • Asset Coordination: Partner with the design team to create compelling assets for campaigns, including digital and social media graphics.
  • Performance Analysis: Conduct thorough post-analysis of key campaigns, sharing insights and recommendations for future marketing opportunities and improvements.
  • Team Communication: Effectively communicate marketing plans and strategies to in-house teams, including publishing, editorial, and sales departments, ensuring alignment and collaboration across all functions.
  • Competitive Analysis: Keep abreast of industry best practices in trade paperback publishing and emerging trends that could drive backlist sales in order to inform and improve campaigns.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in book marketing, with a strong preference for candidates with expertise in trade paperbacks.

Skills:

  • Self-motivated and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong creative thinking and strategic planning abilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proactive and exceptionally organized, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience designing marketing assets using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Canva.

The salary range for this position is $73,500 - $79,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
