Job summary

Cracken is seeking a Marketing Manager to own external voice in a highly technical cybersecurity field. You will steer PR, SMM, and content creation to build credibility and thought leadership, with hands-on ownership over brand voice and visibility.

You'll collaborate with founders and cross-functional teams to drive campaigns, measure impact, and accelerate security-market growth in a fully remote setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Marketing/PR/SMM/Content in a hybrid role.
• Experience in the cybersecurity domain.
• Ability to write technical content (technical blog posts, whitepapers, or deep-dive explainers).
• Strong SMM track record with real cases of growing a targeted audience.
• Hands-on experience with media or press outreach and pitching.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools for content and marketing workflows.
• Excellent English copywriting skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, credible messaging.

THE ROLE

We're looking for a Marketing Manager to own our external voice and build credibility in a highly technical cybersecurity domain. You'll lead three connected pillars: PR, social media (SMM), and content creation. This is a hands-on, high-impact role with real ownership over brand voice, visibility, and thought leadership.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Marketing strategy & operations

• - Execute marketing strategy aligned with business goals
• - Organize lightweight marketing ops: content calendar, contractors, and timelines
• - Collaborate directly with founders, product, sales, and design teams
• - Track performance, prepare monthly reports, and optimize based on metrics

Content creation

• - Turn security research, product features, and engineering work into deep, credible material: technical blog posts, breakdowns, whitepapers, and explainers
• - Maintain and grow the company blog and website content
• - Use AI tools to speed up content workflows without losing technical accuracy or brand voice

SMM

• - Build and manage content and media plans across LinkedIn, X/Twitter, blog, and website
• - Grow a targeted audience of security practitioners, researchers, and enterprise buyers
• - Build relationships with partners and communities

PR & communications

• - Build and maintain relationships with cybersecurity and tech media
• - Write and distribute press releases, announcements, and pitches
• - Identify trends, news hooks, and PR opportunities in cyber and AI, and pitch timely commentary and expert perspectives
• - Support conference presence, including announcements, live coverage, and post-event content
• - Coordinate speaking opportunities, podcasts, and interviews for founders and researchers

MUST HAVE

• - 3+ years of experience in Marketing, PR, SMM, Content, or a related hybrid role
• - Experience in the cybersecurity domain
• - Demonstrated ability to write technical content (technical blog posts, whitepapers, or deep-dive explainers)
• - Strong SMM track record with real cases of growing a targeted audience
• - Hands-on experience with media or press outreach and pitching
• - Hands-on experience using AI tools for content and marketing workflows
• - Excellent English copywriting skills
• - Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, credible messaging
• - Proactive, ownership-driven mindset; comfortable operating in an early-stage startup

NICE TO HAVE

• - Experience working with top-tier cybersecurity media (e.g. The Hacker News, Dark Reading, BleepingComputer, SecurityWeek, CyberScoop, Krebs on Security)
• - Experience with conference and event marketing
