Job description

Description

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, the Marketing Manager for the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia will manage and execute strategic marketing, communications, and account management efforts aimed at strengthening community engagement and advancing the Federation’s mission. In this role, you will hold primary ownership over a designated portfolio of internal departments, including NextGen, the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), Women of Vision (WOV), and Jewish Federation Real Estate (JFRE) – groups within the Jewish Federation that engage young professionals, community advocates, philanthropic women leaders, and real estate professionals in building and strengthening the Jewish community.

Operating with autonomy for routine decisions within your portfolio, you will serve as a key strategic partner to internal stakeholders, lead project oversight for assigned initiatives, drive portfolio performance, and supervise the Marketing Coordinator to ensure successful delivery of campaigns while supporting team effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Departmental Account & Portfolio Management:
Serve as the primary marketing and communications liaison for assigned departments. Build strong relationships with lay leaders and internal stakeholders, understand their strategic objectives, and deliver tailored marketing plans that drive event attendance, donor cultivation, membership growth and community engagement.

  • Marketing & Account Oversight:
Lead end-to-end project oversight and marketing strategies for all initiatives within your assigned portfolio. Make independent operational and routine marketing decisions to successfully deliver initiatives, while utilizing senior leadership for coaching, strategic communications counsel and escalation support when needed.

  • Content Strategy & Copy Execution:
Work closely with assigned departments to generate content strategies and execute copy across programmatic, campaign, print and digital needs. Lead copywriting and narrative development to execute integrated marketing campaigns that promote programs, community events, philanthropic drives and advocacy efforts. Produce engaging feature and impact stories for the Jewish Federation's blog and the regional newspaper to showcase organizational outcomes. Ensure a consistent brand voice across all touchpoints while crafting compelling, audience-focused messaging.

  • Team Supervision, Coaching & Management:
Directly supervise and mentor the Marketing Coordinator, managing workload distribution, project delegation, setting priorities and providing day-to-day coaching. Foster a collaborative, mission-driven environment focused on professional development, cross-functional coordination and team effectiveness.

  • Digital Marketing & Communications Execution:
Lead digital communications execution for assigned departments within your portfolio. Build, schedule, and send email communications, ensuring audience segmentation accuracy, strong engagement, and brand alignment. Maintain and manage day-to-day website updates for your portfolio's webpages and social media content needs to ensure upcoming programs and campaigns are effectively supported across digital channels.

  • Portfolio Performance & Analytics:
Monitor, analyze and report on marketing performance and campaign effectiveness across your assigned portfolio. Use data analytics to track key metrics (donor engagement, social media reach, website traffic, ticket sales, and event participation) and provide actionable insights to optimize future strategy.

  • Budget Management:
Manage project budgets for assigned campaigns, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and accurate tracking of expenses in alignment with strategic priorities.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing or communications, with demonstrated experience in account management, campaign execution and cross-functional project management.

  • Experience leading or partnering with cross-functional working teams, clients, donor groups, or programmatic departments (experience with young leadership, advocacy, or professional networks is a plus).

  • Direct experience generating content strategy, crafting copy, and ensuring brand voice consistency across print, digital, and campaign channels.

  • Previous experience supervising, mentoring and delegating tasks to direct reports

  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to manage portfolio performance independently while knowing when to escalation issues.
