Cypress Healthcare and Rehabilitation is seeking a market‑driven professional to build and manage referral relationships across hospitals, clinics, and senior‑care providers in the San Marcos area. You will drive census growth by expanding external sources and sharing information to help families choose the right nursing center.

The role requires 2+ years in healthcare sales, strong networking, and the ability to analyze local market trends to differentiate services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, healthcare or related business field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years direct sales experience targeted to physicians, hospital personnel and case managers preferred.
• Proven success in developing referrals from healthcare target markets.
• Evidence of a local referral network to develop referrals.
• Professional image and strong self‑confidence, enthusiasm and assertiveness.
• Team player with ability to collaborate internally and externally.
• Experience with local community groups preferred.

Your Job Summary

Responsible for building referral source relationships in a variety of settings, such as hospitals, clinics, and senior-service related organization within the community. To build and grow census and quality mix by developing the market, working with acute care and other referral sources and providing prospective residents and/or responsible parties with appropriate information and assistance to choosing the nursing center.

Principal Responsibilities

• Drive business growth by meeting or exceeding census goals.
• Expand community base and develop referral relationships with but not limited to: senior-service organizations, case managers/discharge planners from hospitals, rehabs and nursing homes, adult day care centers, geriatric physicians, assisted living, retirement communities, etc.
• Understand local industry trends to represent and differentiate the company and its services in the market.
• Accurately generate required reports and documentation of marketing activity including weekly schedule, marketing action plan, activity log, etc., within designated time frame.
• Effective utilization of company resources to ensure an appropriate return on investment.
• Takes an active role in developing the marketing plan and budget with VP of Business Development by assessing community needs, outlining marketing strategy/objectives, identifying major competitors and identifying specific marketing action items with measurable goals.
• Develop relationships with a growing base of referral sources, leading to a consistent flow of quality referrals to the center. Majority of time (95%) allocated to external sales development.
• Actively seeks out and identifies new referral sources and consistently seeks to expand targets to achieve census objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, health care or related business field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years direct sales experience targeted to physicians, hospital personnel and case managers preferred.
• Proven success in personally developing referrals for a medical product from health care target markets (physicians, hospitals and case managers).
• Evidence of a local referral network from which to develop referrals.
• Professional image in both appearance and behavior, exhibiting high self-confidence, enthusiasm, assertiveness and a desire to succeed.
• Must be a team player and have the ability to establish working relationships both internally and externally.
• Experience with local community groups preferred.
