Job Summary

As a part of the Marketing Performance team, the Marketing Data Analyst will be a strategic partner to the marketing team, leveraging data-driven insights to shape and optimize marketing strategies. This role is integral to translating complex data into meaningful narratives that inform decision-making and drive business growth. The Marketing Data Analyst will focus on uncovering trends, identifying opportunities, and guiding data strategy through deep analysis and advanced data visualization. With a strong understanding of marketing metrics, the customer lifecycle, and industry best practices, this individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that data-driven insights are at the forefront of marketing initiatives. The role requires a proactive approach to enhancing marketing performance through data exploration, reporting, and strategic recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct data analysis to generate actionable insights that inform marketing strategies, decision-making, and performance improvements.
  2. Query, clean, and integrate data from multiple sources to prepare datasets for analysis and reporting.
  3. Build and maintain marketing reports, dashboards, and scorecards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and marketing metrics.
  4. Perform forecasting, benchmarking, and exploratory analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and anomalies in marketing data.
  5. Utilize statistical techniques to validate findings, provide data-driven recommendations, and analyze the customer lifecycle to improve acquisition, retention, and engagement.
  6. Design and develop Tableau dashboards and other visualizations to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.
  7. Collaborate with marketing stakeholders to optimize visualization requirements and ensure dashboards are user-friendly.
  8. Partner with BI and data teams to align data pipelines, integrations, and models with reporting needs, addressing data quality and governance issues.
  9. Support ad hoc analysis requests and the development of marketing scorecards and executive reports to assess marketing impact.
  10. Monitor key metrics, such as lead generation, conversion rates, customer acquisition cost (CAC), and return on marketing investment (ROMI).
  11. Maintain documentation of data analysis processes, reporting standards, and data visualization guidelines.
  12. Stay informed on marketing analytics trends and best practices to continually enhance the team’s capabilities.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics, Data Analytics, Data Science or a related field.
  2. 6+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence, preferably within a marketing context.
  3. Strong understanding of marketing metrics, the customer lifecycle, and marketing best practices.
  4. Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms.
  5. Familiarity with querying and analyzing data from data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery) and advanced knowledge of data tools like Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, Salesforce Data Studio, Excel, and Power Query.
  6. Proficiency in SQL and python for querying databases and preparing data for analysis.
  7. Proficiency in data analysis techniques, including data cleansing, joining, and exploratory analysis.
  8. Experience with data visualization best practices and creating engaging visual reports and dashboards.
  9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  10. Ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  11. Familiarity with marketing automation platforms and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Marketo, Pardot, etc).
  12. Knowledge of forecasting techniques and marketing analytics frameworks.
  13. Data Visualization experience is a plus. Leveraging best practices and creating engaging & interactive visual reports and dashboards.
  14. Experience with Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) and data integration concepts is a plus.
  15. Experience with data science tools and techniques, such as R or Python, is a plus.
