Job summary

Washington County Recreation Department seeks a Marketing and Grant Manager to develop and coordinate marketing, communications, public relations, community outreach, and grant development for the department and partner county entities.

The role promotes recreation programs, leagues, events, and facilities while supporting grant research, writing, and reporting; collaborating with county leadership and other departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience in marketing or communications.
• Experience in grant writing and government/nonprofit sectors preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of public relations and digital marketing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement marketing strategies for the Recreation Department.
• Manage social media, website, newsletters, press releases, and public communications.
• Create promotional materials including flyers and digital graphics.
• Promote programs, events, and capital improvement projects.
• Research and apply for grants; track deadlines and reporting.
• Support other county departments with grant-related tasks.
• Coordinate sponsorships and partnerships.
• Promote Washington County as a destination for youth sports tournaments.
• Prepare presentations and reports for leadership and stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
