Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
  • 3 years of relevant experience in marketing/communications or events.
  • Experience planning and executing high-quality events.
  • Experience writing for integrated marketing campaigns and digital platforms (web, blogs, e-newsletters).
  • Experience developing content for financial aid and/or special populations.

Responsibilities

LOUIS, MO 63130Scheduled Hours37.5Position SummaryThe Marketing & Events Coordinator for Pre-College Opportunities is responsible for developing communications and programming in support of college prep initiatives within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The coordinator works in conjunction with the Marketing & Communications team to create and/or oversee development of content including, but not limited to emails, print, website, social media, presentations, program materials/workbooks, and promotional items. Additionally, the coordinator works in conjunction with the Director of the Visit Experience to coordinate logistics, budget, and programming for pre-college students. All work is done in collaboration with the Pre-College Opportunities unit within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.Job DescriptionPrimary Duties & Responsibilities:Develop a comprehensive understanding of Washington University’s undergraduate experience and the needs of prospective students from less resourced backgrounds and use that understanding to develop strategic marketing and communications related to recruiting students to pre-college opportunities and supporting their journeys within the programs. Create marketing plans, develop timelines, draft copy, and route for proper approvals. Ensure all content is on brand, well crafted, compelling, accurate and authentic to the program. Coordinator works with Marketing & Communications, Systems, and Strategic Analysis to ensure communications and engagements are tracked, that events are managed within the CRM system and that data is able to be used as needed.Collaborate with the Pre-College Opportunities unit to design day-long, week-long, and multi-week programming designed to achieve the goals of the unit including introducing students to selective college admissions, academic and cultural enrichment, St. Louis and the WashU Community. Coordinator creates itineraries, play-by-plays, and internal communications, and coordinates logistics such as catering, rooms, air and ground travel. Coordinator schedules team meetings, communicates with internal and external partners and vendors. Coordinator actively manages day-of logistics for events and activities.Coordinator is responsible for tracking expenses, creating purchase orders, forcasting spending and keeping the Sr. Associate Director and Sr. Manager of Business Operations informed on the budget. Works with Marketing & Communications Production Manager to track inventory of event items and to ensure timely production of needed materials.Performs other duties as assigned.Working Conditions:Job Location/Working ConditionsNormal office environmentAbility to travel to on- and off-campus locations.
