Job summary

Virginia Beach City Public Schools is seeking a Marketing Education Teacher for the 2027-2028 school year. Under the supervision of the principal, you will plan instruction, deliver engaging lessons, assess student learning, and maintain records in accordance with VBCPS policies.

The position requires a Bachelor's Degree in education and eligibility for a Virginia teaching license. You will collaborate with colleagues and families to support student growth and success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education from an accredited college or university.
• Must have or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license.

Responsibilities

• Plan a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Instruct assigned classes regularly at designated times and locations.
• Create a classroom environment that engages students in learning.
• Provide an instructional program to meet the needs of all students.
• Prepare for classes and show written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Guide the learning process toward curriculum goals with clear objectives.
• Establish learning objectives consistent with VBCPS curriculum and human development.
• Plan and utilize instructional methods, resources and evaluation techniques.
• Take necessary safety precautions to protect students and property.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and policy.
• Assist administration in policy enforcement and classroom management.
• Be available to students/parents outside instructional hours when needed.
• Establish professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and the community.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher assistants and volunteers.
• Appraise own effectiveness and pursue professional development.
• Participate in school management and committee work.
• Attend staff meetings and perform other duties as required.
