Description

Job Summary/Objective:

Develop, maintain and leverage relationships with Thought Leaders, Epilepsy Centers of Excellence, medical associations, advocacy groups and promotional medical education groups to advance strategic initiatives. Identify and support opportunities with medical associations and government agencies that would benefit patients and clinicians. Strategic partner to several Commercial and non-Commercial Neurelis teams. Support Neurelis business development efforts through acquisition of competitive and marketplace intelligence.

Essential Job Functions:

  • As a contributor within promotional Medical Education, this position will support several activities which include:

o Thought Leader identification

o Thought Leader engagement planning

o Congress planning

o Execution and reporting of scientific encounters, web conferences, product theatres, symposia and training meetings.

o Advisory board planning

o Professional organization identification

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with national and local Thought Leaders in the therapeutic area, as well as work closely with them to find opportunities for product differentiation.
  • Speaker Bureau Management: Partner with Marketing to develop a plan to implement speaker programs, the processes around programming and system training for the Commercial team. Partner with Commercial, Medical Affairs and vendor(s) to identify and update promotional content, as needed.
  • Review regular performance reports on program statistics and monitoring metrics to determine if tactical execution, speaker utilization and program system(s) are meeting business needs and evaluate other program enhancement opportunities.
  • Speaker identification, training and resource development.
  • Builds strong, collaborative relationships cross-functionally to ensure alignment on strategy and messaging within the scope of projects.
  • Contribute to the development of the annual brand business plan, strategy and objectives.
  • Interact frequently with Field Sales and Sales Leadership to implement strategies associated with approved business plans and to ensure marketing programs support their direct and indirect needs and drive topline growth.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing on Congress planning and management.
  • Identify and anticipate attractive market opportunities.
  • Manage strategic initiatives in collaboration with other Neurelis colleagues, medical associations and congresses.
  • Translate business needs within epilepsy (and other CNS disease states) to actionable information for team members via advisory board executive summaries and scientific encounter congress reports.
  • Participate in strategic assessment (gap analysis) of information needs within the therapeutic area and develop fulfillment strategies (e.g. educational activities, attendance at key medical meetings/congresses, advisory boards, etc.)
  • Execute on appropriate Sales and Marketing initiatives.
  • Understand and comply with Legal, Regulatory and Compliance requirements as it related to customer interactions.
  • Comply with all aspects of the Sunshine Act.

  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop innovative strategies.
  • Strong foundation of knowledge in CNS, preferably with epilepsy experience.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, such as field sales, marketing and medical.
  • Understanding of the dynamics associated with selling a prescription epilepsy product in today’s marketplace.
  • Strong analytical skills and proven strategic ability to succeed in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to foster team cohesion and demonstrate ability to work effectively in a fast- paced matric environment, with or without direct reports.
  • Ability to work both internally and externally with technical and medical experts.
  • Ability to work in a ‘virtual’ environment through the management of external service providers to meet objectives and budgets.

Field Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requires extensive daily driving, getting in and out of an automobile, carrying materials (10 to 20 pounds), going up and down stairs and walking throughout medical buildings and to and from physician offices.

Travel Requirements:

Ability to travel up to 50%

Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 8 years of experience in sales and/or marketing leadership roles.
  • Previous successful experience in business planning, Thought Leader development and pre- launch/post-launch strategic marketing and/or account management.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience (including significant professional accomplishments in non-pharmaceutical roles) may be considered.
