Our Design team is a small, nimble group of builders and thinkers, collaborating closely with marketing, product design and growth teams. We’re looking for a Marketing Designer with a focus on UGC-style content to help us scale impactful mobile marketing campaigns. Smarter Apps is a globally distributed team with employees across countries and timezones. This is a remote-first, contract role open to qualified candidates, ideally based in the US.

Role

We’re seeking a Marketing Designer who’s comfortable concepting and producing UGC-style marketing content that connects with real audiences. You’ll film yourself, your environment, and b-roll to create authentic, high-converting ads and iterate rapidly on new hooks, CTAs, and social trends. Your work will directly support user acquisition and engagement for our mobile apps.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and produce UGC-style video content, filming yourself, your environment, and b-roll.
  • Develop and iterate on short-form videos with unique hooks and compelling CTAs, aligned with campaign goals.
  • Stay current with social media trends and platform formats, incorporating fresh ideas into content.
  • Work in one-week sprints, delivering polished creative assets and iterating rapidly based on feedback.
  • Actively participate in creative performance review meetings, contributing insights into what’s working and why.
  • Join brainstorms and strategy sessions to help shape content direction and develop testable hypotheses.
  • Collaborate closely with a small, cross-functional team to align creative with performance marketing goals.
  • Edit and refine videos using Adobe After Effects (preferred to share files across team).
  • Stay organized and proactive in a remote, asynchronous work environment using Slack and ClickUp.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience creating UGC-style content (ideally with examples or a portfolio).
  • Comfortable filming yourself and producing engaging video content in your own space and in specific scenarios based on the scripts you develop.
  • Deep knowledge of current social media trends, platforms, and formats (TikTok, Instagram, Meta, YouTube Shorts, Google, etc.).
  • Ability to iterate rapidly on creative concepts with multiple variations to isolate and test hooks and ctas.
  • Proficient in video editing and motion design tools (Adobe After Effects preferred).
  • Self-directed, organized, and able to deliver work in fast-paced, one-week sprints.
  • Ideally based in the US, with availability for consistent, longer term freelance/contract work.
  • Bonus: Experience collaborating with growth or performance marketing teams on direct-response content, producing static concepts and ASO sets, and other mobile app-focused marketing collateral.
