To support this growth, we’re seeking a Marketing Data Analyst to join our global marketing team and contribute to data-driven decision-making across the marketing funnel.

Role Overview

As a Marketing Data Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in helping Timescale understand the impact of our marketing efforts and optimize campaign performance. You’ll work closely with the marketing team to analyze key campaigns and initiatives, create dashboards, and share actionable insights that inform growth strategy. By identifying patterns in user behavior, campaign ROI, and customer journeys, you’ll help the team make smarter decisions and ensure our marketing investments deliver maximum impact.

This role is ideal for a curious, analytical marketer who enjoys diving into data and working collaboratively to drive measurable results.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain marketing dashboards to provide insights into campaign effectiveness and overall marketing performance.
  2. Prepare detailed reports on marketing campaign performance, highlighting successes, areas for improvement, and actionable insights.
  3. Measure the effectiveness of various marketing touchpoints and their impact on the customer journey, helping the team understand which channels are driving conversions.
  4. Monitor and analyze web traffic using tools such as Google Analytics, identifying areas for improvement.
  5. Assist in developing marketing forecasts and budget allocation recommendations based on data trends and historical performance.
  6. Analyze spend efficiency across channels and provide insights into optimal budget distribution.
Ideal Candidate
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Excel, Tableau, SQL, etc.).
  • Experience with CRM / marketing automation platforms (HubSpot) is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to spot trends and anomalies in data.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills using data-driven approaches.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to present findings visually in a compelling and digestible manner.
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced environment, working independently and collaboratively.
Not the Right Fit?
  • Lack of deep, hands-on experience with SQL.
  • No prior experience in a marketing analytics role.
  • Unfamiliarity with SaaS, subscription, or consumption-based revenue models.
  • Discomfort in fast-paced, dynamic environments where priorities shift quickly.
  • Limited interest in building technical skills or passion for developer tools.
