Marketing & Customers Experience Specialist

Chicago Meat Authority (CMA) is proud to have celebrated 35 years in the food industry. Located in Chicago’s historic Stockyards, CMA is a forward thinking processor of value added beef, pork, and poultry items with a strong focus on selling the Healthcare, Hotel, and Institutional Markets (HRI), meat purveyors, and Multi-unit regional and national chains up to and including big box stores. In addition, CMA specializes in custom cuts for further processors including but not limited to grinding operations, deli manufacturers, and the prepared entrée market.

Chicago Meat Authority is seeking a Marketing & Customer Experience Specialist to support marketing initiatives, sales operations, customer coordination, and new-product development projects across all customer channels. This role is responsible for coordinating marketing activities, maintaining customer and product information, tracking projects, and facilitating communication between Sales, customers, and internal departments. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in ensuring customer requests, marketing programs, and commercial projects are managed efficiently and completed in a timely manner.

Why CMA?

At CMA, you’ll have the opportunity to make a direct impact on how we connect with customers, support our sales team, and bring new products to market. This role offers a hands‑on, cross‑functional experience working with Marketing, Sales, and Operations to improve customer experience, strengthen our brand, and keep commercial projects moving forward. Join a growing team where organization, collaboration, and initiative make a meaningful difference.

What You Get To Do:

Key Responsibilities

  • Event marketing: trade shows, customer events, broker events, and related materials.
  • Distributor rebates, promotions, program setup, tracking, and reconciliation.
  • Social media, website/product content, and external company messaging.
  • Customer‑facing documents: external specs, product sheets, point‑of‑sale (POS) materials, presentations, brochures, sell sheets, and sales collateral.
  • Packaging coordination: box printing, labels, branded packaging, and customer‑facing artwork.
  • Coordinate Salesforce.com administration, including user access, data standards, opportunity fields, reports, dashboards, basic configuration, training, and data accuracy.
  • Customer and item code setup and maintenance coordination across CMA customer channels.
  • Maintain the distributor stocking matrix, identifying which CMA items are stocked at each distributor location and tracking additions, discontinuations, or changes.

  • Coordinate customer requests that go beyond basic order entry, ensuring each has an assigned owner, next step, and due date.
  • Track samples, specifications, customer approvals, labels, packaging, and other commercialization requirements.
  • Maintain the new‑product project tracker and coordinate meetings, status updates, and follow‑up activities.
  • Coordinate customer communication on open projects and routine issues when Sales does not need to own the communication directly.
  • Route quality complaints and customer service issues to the appropriate functional owner, coordinate communication and follow‑up, and track issues through resolution. QA retains responsibility for investigating quality complaints and determining corrective actions.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate professionally across customers, Sales, Marketing, and other departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM systems is preferred.

What We Value:
