Job summary

Mitchell Hamline School of Law invites applications for a Marketing Coordinator who supports the Marketing team in website content, digital and print communications, social media, and events. Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain assigned pages on the Mitchell Hamline website, ensuring content is accurate, current, accessible, and consistent with brand standards.
  • Format and publish web content, including text, images, links, documents, and other digital assets.
  • Assist with routine website quality assurance, including identifying outdated content, broken links, formatting issues, and opportunities to improve user experience.
  • Support basic web and digital analytics reporting.
  • Draft, edit, proofread, and format content for web, email, social media, print materials, newsletters, and other communications.
  • Assist Marketing team with development and execution of email campaigns.
  • Identify and develop stories featuring students, faculty, staff, alumni, programs, and events; adapt content for different audiences while maintaining Mitchell Hamline voice and brand.
  • Create and update routine marketing materials using templates; produce digital and print materials such as social graphics, flyers, event materials, presentations, signage, and email graphics.
  • Assist with photography, short-form video, and basic video editing for web and social media; organize and maintain marketing assets.
  • Provide project support to Marketing Managers and the Chief Marketing Officer for campaigns and institutional initiatives; coordinate routine marketing requests and track deadlines.

Job description

Mitchell Hamline School of Law is seeking to hire a Marketing Coordinator. This positionsupports the development and execution of marketing and communications initiatives across Mitchell Hamline School of Law. As a member of the centralized Marketing team, this position provides hands‑on support across website content, digital and print communications, social media, email marketing, graphic design, events, and other marketing projects.

This is an early‑career marketing position designed for an adaptable and creative generalist who is interested in developing broad marketing experience. The coordinator works closely with Marketing team members and campus partners to produce accurate, engaging, and on‑brand communications while developing skills across multiple areas of marketing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Digital and Website Content
  • Update and maintain assigned pages on the Mitchell Hamline website, ensuring content is accurate, current, accessible, and consistent with brand standards.
  • Format and publish web content, including text, images, links, documents, and other digital assets.
  • Assist with routine website quality assurance, including identifying outdated content, broken links, formatting issues, and opportunities to improve the user experience.
  • Support basic web and digital analytics reporting.
Content and Communications
  • Draft, edit, proofread, and format content for web, email, social media, print materials, newsletters, and other communications.
  • Assist Marketing team members with development and execution of email campaigns.
  • Help identify and develop stories featuring students, faculty, staff, alumni, programs, and events.
  • Adapt content for different audiences and communication channels while maintaining the Mitchell Hamline voice and brand.
Graphic Design and Multimedia
  • Create and update routine marketing materials using established brand standards and templates.
  • Produce digital and print materials such as social graphics, flyers, event materials, presentations, signage, and email graphics.
  • Assist with photography, short‑form video, and basic video editing for web and social media.
  • Organize and maintain marketing photos, graphics, templates, and other digital assets.
Marketing and Project Support
  • Provide project support to Marketing Managers and the Chief Marketing Officer for campaigns and institutional initiatives.
  • Coordinate routine marketing requests and help track projects, deadlines, approvals, and deliverables.
  • Assist with social media content development, scheduling, and monitoring.
  • Support marketing needs for school events, including development of promotional materials and on‑site support as needed.
  • Conduct basic research related to audiences, competitors, marketing trends, and institutional initiatives.
  • Coordinate with printers, photographers, videographers, and other vendors as assigned.
  • Provide general support across the Marketing team based on changing priorities and workload.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to learn and work effectively with website content management systems and other digital marketing tools.

  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new marketing tools, platforms, and techniques.
  • Basic understanding of branding, digital communications, social media, and accessibility principles.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain professionalism when working with institutional information.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, journalism, public relations, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Up to two years of related professional, internship, student employment, freelance, or project experience in marketing, communications, design, digital media, or a related area.
  • Demonstrated writing, editing, design, or digital content skills.
  • Experience with or demonstrated ability to learn content management, design, email marketing, and social media tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with WordPress or another content management system.
  • Experience with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience creating content for social media.
  • Basic photography or video production/editing experience.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms.
  • Experience in higher education, nonprofit, professional services, or another mission‑driven environment.
Pay Range

The anticipated pay range for this position is $26.50 - $29 per hour depending on qualifications.
