Job description

Technology is at the center of Iowa’s growth, and the Technology Association of Iowa (TAI) helps bring the people, companies, ideas, and conversations shaping that future together.

TAI connects Iowa’s technology leaders and professionals through statewide events, public policy, professional development programs, talent initiatives, member engagement, and storytelling that highlights the impact of technology across every industry.

We’re looking for a Marketing Coordinator to help bring that work to life across TAI’s digital channels.

This is a dynamic role for someone early in their marketing career who enjoys creating content, managing details, organizing projects, and helping a fast-moving team communicate clearly and consistently. If you want to build real experience across digital marketing, content, events, email, social media, website management, and brand storytelling, this role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on Iowa’s technology ecosystem.

The Role

The Marketing Coordinator will report directly to the Vice President of Marketing & Communications and support the day-to-day execution of TAI’s marketing and communications work.

This role will help create and deliver content across TAI’s website, email, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other owned channels. The Marketing Coordinator will use TAI’s established messaging platform, campaign strategies, brand voice, and design systems to create clear, consistent, and engaging content that supports events, programs, membership, sponsorships, public policy, and Iowa’s broader technology community.

This role is also highly project-driven. TAI operates on a cyclical annual calendar, with recurring events, programs, campaigns, and communications that require strong organization and attention to detail. The Marketing Coordinator will help manage tactical tasks, timelines, content needs, approvals, and project workflows in Asana to keep work moving across the organization.

What You’ll Do

Create and publish content across TAI channels:

Support content development and publishing for TAI’s website, email campaigns, LinkedIn, Instagram, event promotions, program communications, and other owned channels.

Use TAI’s brand and messaging systems:

Create content using established brand guidelines, design templates, messaging frameworks, and voice standards so TAI shows up with clarity, consistency, and credibility.

Build, edit, deploy and measure email campaigns, lists, forms, landing pages, and basic reporting within the CRM platform.

Update and maintain website content:

Make content updates to TAI’s website including event pages, signature pages, news posts, and landing pages using WordPress.

Manage tactical project work:

Use Asana to track tasks, deadlines, content needs, approvals, and recurring campaign workflows across events, programs, membership, sponsorship, and communications.

Use TAI’s established design system and templates to create and update marketing graphics. This may include swapping images, updating copy, resizing graphics, exporting files, and preparing assets for web, email, and social media. Willingness to learn Adobe Creative Cloud software is important.

Support visual storytelling:

Help capture point-and-shoot photo coverage at select TAI events and organize event photography for use across social, email, web, and marketing campaigns. Professional photographers are used for larger signature events, but visual storytelling is a key part of how TAI communicates connection, energy, and community.

Serve as a day-to-day liaison between marketing, leadership, and the events/programs team to help clarify needs, gather information, track deadlines, and move projects forward.

Track basic performance metrics:

Support reporting for email, website, and social media performance, helping identify what is working and where adjustments may be needed.

What We Need From You

Content Mindset:

You can help turn information into clear, useful, engaging content for different audiences and channels.

Digital Focus:

You understand how people communicate online and are interested in growing audiences across email, web, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other digital platforms.

You are organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing task lists, deadlines, edits, approvals, and moving pieces.

Strong Follow-Through:

You take ownership of your work, ask good questions, and keep projects moving.

You enjoy working with others, gathering input, and helping different parts of the organization stay aligned.

Willingness to Learn:

You are curious, coachable, and committed to improving your marketing, communications, design, photography, and technical skills.
