Job summary

Visit College Station is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to own day-to-day work that builds visibility through social media, content creation, website management and partner outreach.

You'll work closely with the team on strategy, campaigns and stakeholder relationships, ensuring high-quality content and a strong brand voice to keep our city top of mind for travelers and businesses alike. Evening/weekend work may occasionally be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, tourism or a related field.
  • 1-3+ years of experience in marketing, tourism, hospitality or related industry.
  • Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills with brand voice consistency.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms, email marketing tools and CMS.
  • Photography and video editing skills; Adobe Creative Cloud experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement integrated marketing campaigns across print, digital, social media and other channels.
  • Manage Visit and Compete College Station social media accounts, including content calendar and engagement.
  • Support email marketing initiatives, including newsletters and analytics reporting.
  • Maintain VisitCollegeStation.com with content updates and blog creation.
  • Collaborate with Events to create campaigns for awareness and engagement.
  • Coordinate photography and videography to produce high-quality assets.
  • Track campaign performance and provide optimization insights.
  • Assist with budgeting, invoicing and partner listings as needed.

Job description

College Station is growing in tourism, economic development, events and brand presence and marketing is at the center of that growth. We're looking for a Marketing Coordinator to own the day-to-day work that builds our visibility and drives results: social media, content creation, website management and partner/community outreach. You'll work closely alongside the team on strategy, campaigns and stakeholder relationships, while ensuring consistent, high-quality content that keeps our city top of mind for travelers and businesses alike. We're looking for a qualified team player with experience under their belt, a genuine love for hospitality and destination marketing and the hustle to keep up with a fast-moving team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the development and implementation of integrated marketing campaigns across print, digital, social media and other channels to promote Visit College Station, including coordination with third-party partners
  • Manage Visit and Compete College Station social media accounts, including creating a calendar of activities, all content creation, scheduling, community engagement, performance tracking and reporting
  • Support email marketing initiatives, including eNewsletter content development, subscriber list growth and management and analytics reporting
  • Manage VisitCollegeStation.com, including content updates, blog creation and application oversight
  • Assist with the development of promotional materials to enhance the destination’s brand presence
  • Collaborate with the Events team to develop targeted campaigns and special promotions that drive awareness and engagement for events
  • Coordinate and participate in community and university events, particularly with Texas A&M University, to foster engagement, strengthen partnerships and support both prospective and new student initiatives
  • Work with all departmental staff to ensure optimal messaging, content and imagery across various graphic and promotional needs
  • Coordinate photography and videography efforts to ensure high-quality visual assets for marketing purposes
  • Assist in tracking and analyzing marketing campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for optimization
  • Support media relations efforts, including coordinating media visits
  • Maintain marketing databases, asset libraries and partner listings to ensure accuracy and accessibility
  • Assist in budgeting and invoice processing as needed
  • Assist the Marketing Manager as required
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, tourism or a related field
  • 1-3+ years of experience in marketing, tourism, hospitality or a related industry
  • Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills with attention to brand voice and consistency
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, email marketing tools and content management systems
  • Photography and video editing skills
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud graphic design software
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines and work collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Experience in destination marketing, tourism or hospitality a plus
  • Familiarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Meta Insights, etc.)
