Job description

Marketing Configuration Specialist, Orchestration

McClatchy Media is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Marketing Configuration Specialist, Orchestration, who will be responsible for the real-time execution and strategic orchestration of marketing journeys across channels. This role ensures cohesive customer experiences and timely delivery of content throughout the non-subscriber user journeys. Working within Braze and Amplitude, the Orchestration Specialist manages, with guidance from the Marketing Automation & Orchestration Manager, segmentation strategies, messaging cadence and end-to-end journey logic, collaborating closely with the Automation Specialist to drive campaign success for non-subscriber engagement.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is between 65k and 80k annually. Individual base pay may vary within that range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, relevant education, department equity, training, geography, and local wage and hours laws.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement and manage orchestrated customer journeys in Braze, focusing on data-driven timing, transitions and engagement optimization.
  • Refine audience segmentation and targeting logic to support personalized cross-channel messaging strategies with down-stream scaling as a priority.
  • Execute real-time messaging campaigns across email, push, in-app and other marketing channels.
  • Oversee QA, testing and performance validation of journey orchestration configurations.
  • Partner with the Automation Specialist to ensure alignment and handoffs between automated and orchestrated workflows.
  • Apply journey mapping insights and Liquid Logic personalization to maximize relevance and engagement.
  • In conjunction with CRM Data Analyst, analyze orchestration performance using Amplitude and other data tools; identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Maintain consistent documentation and ensure orchestration best practices are followed.
  • Monitor industry trends and innovations to evolve McClatchy’s customer journey strategies.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced knowledge of journey orchestration within Braze or equivalent CEP platforms.
  • Strong experience with real-time engagement strategies and multichannel marketing campaigns.
  • Expertise in audience segmentation, customer lifecycle journeys and message timing logic.
  • Working knowledge of Liquid Logic, HTML/CSS and event-based data triggers.
  • Familiarity with Amplitude for data analysis and insights visualization.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills; comfort working cross-functionally.
  • Highly organized with a focus on accuracy, consistency and performance-driven decision-making.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; preferably in marketing, or the equivalent education, experience, skills and knowledge needed to perform the tasks and responsibilities of the position.
    • Minimum qualifications: Two years of experience in field or in comparable fields, Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university preferred; computer skills.
