Job summary

GH is seeking a Marketing Communications Specialist I to work with UPMC, delivering marketing needs for hospitals and services. You will report to a Director of Marketing and Communications and support planning, development, launch, and evaluation of promotional programs.

The role involves managing projects across print, digital, and social media, liaising with clinical and non‑clinical teams, and occasional travel in the Pittsburgh area. Hybrid in downtown Pittsburgh at UPMC HQ.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a corporate marketing communications position or related field such as marketing, journalism, or communications.
  • Excellent communication, writing, organization, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to multi‑task.
  • Can translate scientific/medical information to a lay person’s understanding.
  • Research/interviewing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage marketing projects of varying levels of complexity and sophistication (print, digital, social).
  • Serve as a liaison to staff of clinical and non‑clinical programs.
  • Assist other Marketing Communications Managers and Specialists in planning, development, launch and evaluation of marketing programs.
  • Some travel throughout the Pittsburgh area may be required; hybrid role located in downtown Pittsburgh at the UPMC Corporate Headquarters.

GH has a unique position working exclusively with our client, UPMC. By joining the GH team as a Marketing Communications Specialist I, you will have the opportunity to work with a global leader committed to Life Changing Medicine. You will operate under the direction of a Director of Marketing and Communications and support the day‑to‑day marketing needs of various UPMC hospitals and/or services. Additionally, you may assist other Marketing Communications Managers and Marketing Communications Specialists II in the planning, development, launch, and evaluation of promotional and marketing programs to increase patient volume and support UPMC’s business objectives.

In this position, you will handle various projects to provide marketing communications to internal and external audiences in support of the client’s mission. This includes managing marketing projects of varying levels of complexity and sophistication, including print, digital, and social advertising. You will also serve as a liaison to staff of clinical and non‑clinical programs. Other duties may be required as assigned. Some travel throughout the Pittsburgh area may be required for this position. This is a hybrid role located in downtown Pittsburgh at the UPMC Corporate Headquarters.
