The role requires strong AP-style writing, storytelling, and project management within a fast-paced, technical environment.

Qualifications

  • 3–8 years of relevant work experience in newsroom, corporate, or agency
  • Strong AP style writing and storytelling background
  • Ability to present information clearly in writing; understands strategic communications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Foundational Adobe Creative Suite experience; basic videography/photography production/editing
  • Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or related field

Responsibilities

  • Act as primary Internal Communications lead across the business
  • Lead development of internal communications deliverables (newsletter, SharePoint page, visual content)
  • Develop written, video and other media content to showcase news and initiatives
  • Manage internal editorial/content calendar
  • Partner with HR to lead internal communications campaigns
  • Provide photography/videography support to content leads
  • Support media relations, write and distribute trade releases
  • Translate complex topics into digestible content for employees
  • Apply Crane A&E brand guidelines across all content
  • Conduct analytics to measure effectiveness of internal comms

The Marketing Communication Specialist relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish communications goals and performs a variety of complicated tasks with minimal direct supervision. A wide degree of leadership, creativity and latitude is expected.Essential Functions:Act as primary Internal Communications lead, networking across the business to find compelling narratives that build culture and showcase Crane A&E’s industry and societal impactLead the development of Crane A&E’s internal communication’s deliverables – company newsletter, SharePoint company page, visual communications platform, executive communicationsDevelop written, video and other forms of new media content to showcase Crane A&E news (business wins, product launches, philanthropy and more)Manage Crane A&E’s internal editorial/content calendarPartner with HR and other internal stakeholders to develop and lead internal communications campaignsContribute photography/videography support, as needed, in conjunction with Crane A&E’s Marketing & Communications team content leadsSupport media relations plan, help write and distribute trade releases, maintain media list and track earned media placementsTranslate complex business and engineering topics into easy-to-understand content for employees across the businessApply Crane A&E brand guidelines and standards across all internal and external facing contentPerform analytics reporting to measure effectiveness and impact of internal communications activitiesEligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information.
