The University of Maine at Fort Kent is seeking to hire a Marketing Communications Manager. The Marketing Communications Manager will set up, create, manage, track, analyze, and report on communications that support new student enrollment efforts. This position reports to the Executive Director of Marketing and Enrollment Management. The primary responsibilities of the Marketing Communications Manager are to manage the University of Maine at Fort Kent’s customer relationship management (CRM) system and oversee and execute the university’s social media strategy and presence. The manager designs and implements effective CRM communication strategies, customizes communications to meet the strategic needs of each target audience, assists in maintaining data integrity, develops and manages messaging, and oversees the integration of various data sources.
The position also manages social media marketing efforts and is integral to developing engaging, unique content that reaches prospective and current students, community stakeholders, and broader audiences. The manager is responsible for following university brand standards and personality, ensuring appropriate placement and timing of content, and working with the Executive Director to develop, implement, evaluate, and continually refine the social media marketing plan.
The salary for this position is $54,000, plus a10% employer contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Additional benefits (UMSPA Benefits) include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents. Reports to the Executive Director of Marketing and Enrollment Management.
Works closely with the Executive Director of Marketing and Enrollment Management and all members of the Admissions team. Maintains collaborative relationships with faculty and enrollment-related offices and staff, including Financial Aid, Athletics, Advising, and other campus partners.
Adherence to University and departmental financial policies, procedures, and budget expectations.
Occasional service on campus, community, or system committees as requested.

The surrounding town of Fort Kent is a welcoming town of approximately 4,000 people who are active in various festivals, community gatherings, and civic work. UMFK is embedded near the center of town allowing easy access to amenities and the community at large. Fort Kent, one of Maine’s northernmost towns, is the beginning of two highways: U.S. Route 1 and Route 11. The famous scenic U.S. Route 1 starts in Fort Kent and passes through the easternmost towns of Maine bordering Canada and ends up in Key West, Florida. The town also serves as a gateway to the Allagash Wilderness Waterway. From the Allagash Waterway through a forested wilderness, an adventurous canoe trip will take one down to the St. John River. Excellent alpine and cross‑country skiing are additional attractions of the community. Of special note is the five‑minute walk from the UMFK campus to the beautiful Fish River which flows into the St. John River that serves as the international boundary between Maine and New Brunswick, Canada.
