Job summary

Commonwealth Corporation is offering a Marketing & Communications Internship to gain hands‑on experience across campaigns and content creation.

You will analyze data, draft copy for newsletters and press releases, and design engaging marketing materials while coordinating virtual and in‑person events. Collaboration with state agencies and stakeholders is expected throughout the internship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed degree in Journalism, Marketing or Communications.
• Avid writer with storytelling ability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate across departments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data and report on the performance of marketing campaigns.
• Create and edit content for newsletters, blogs, and press releases.
• Design collateral, graphics, annual reports, e-invites, and other marketing material for campaigns.
• Assist in coordinating and promoting events, both virtual and in‑person.
• Assist with daily administrative duties.
• Update the CommCorp website when needed.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders including state agencies, partners and grantees.
• Collaborate with CommCorp staff and fellow intern on new ideas, directions, and venues for marketing.
• Ensure all marketing materials adhere to CommCorp’s brand guidelines.
• Host, organize, and attend meetings with various teams and stakeholders, including preparing agenda, designing PowerPoint slides, and taking minutes.
• Monitor social media platforms for trending news, ideas, and feedback.
• Prepare detailed promotional presentations.
• Support email marketing campaigns, including drafting and scheduling emails.
• Work closely with the coordinator of the internship program; responsibilities may include supporting the organization of the internship cohort and planning for future cohorts.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and projects.
