**Marketing Communication Coordinator** Department: Marketing & Communications Reports to: Marketing Communications Manager Status: Full-Time, 40 hours/week Supervisory Responsibilities: None Location: In-person (Friday remote)Chesapeake Arts CenterChesapeake Arts Center is a multidisciplinary arts organization serving Northern Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City and County, and surrounding communities. CAC provides accessible opportunities for people of all ages to experience, create, and connect through the arts, including classes, camps, performances, exhibitions, MakerSpace programs, and community partnerships.Position Summary The Marketing Communication Coordinator supports Chesapeake Arts Center’s (CAC) marketing and communications efforts by developing and executing campaigns that increase awareness, participation, engagement, and support for CAC’s programs and mission. This position manages day-to-day digital marketing activities including social media, email marketing, website content, digital advertising, graphic design, and promotional materials. The Coordinator works closely with the Marketing Communications Manager and other CAC staff across the organization to promote classes, camps, performances, exhibitions, MakerSpace programs, fundraising initiatives, special events, and community programs while strengthening CAC’s brand and digital presence.Key ResponsibilitiesMarketing & Campaign Development ● Develop and implement marketing campaigns and promotional materials for CAC programs, events, classes, exhibitions, fundraising initiatives, and special projects. ● Maintain marketing calendars and coordinate timelines, messaging, and materials across digital and print channels. ● Ensure communications are consistent with CAC’s brand, mission, and accessible, welcoming voice. Social Media & Digital Content ● Manage day-to-day content for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other appropriate platforms.● Create engaging posts, stories, reels, videos, and other content highlighting CAC programs, artists, instructors, students, performances, exhibitions, events, and community impact. ● Monitor engagement, respond to comments and messages as appropriate, and use analytics to strengthen audience growth and engagement. Email Marketing & Audience Engagement ● Develop and distribute weekly general and periodic targeted email newsletters promoting programs, events, fundraising events, and organizational news. ● Maintain and grow email lists and use segmentation to reach appropriate audiences. ● Monitor email performance and make recommendations to improve engagement, attendance, and sales. Website, Design & Digital Marketing ● Update and maintain website content. ● Support digital advertising and online promotional campaigns. ● Maintain an organized library of photographs, videos, graphics, and other marketing assets. Public Relations, Storytelling & Outreach ● Develop stories and content highlighting CAC’s students, teaching artists, artists, donors, volunteers, programs, and community impact. ● Assist with press releases, media advisories, community outreach, and promotional partnerships. ● Help identify opportunities to increase CAC’s visibility throughout the communities it serves. ● Represent CAC at Community events and support outreach and promotional efforts.Graphic Design & Marketing Materials ● Develop or coordinate the production of flyers, postcards, brochures, advertisements, signage, digital graphics, presentations, and other promotional materials. ● Use Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or comparable design software to create professional marketing materials. ● Coordinate with outside designers, printers, media outlets, and other vendors as needed. ● Maintain organized digital files of marketing materials, photography, logos, templates, and other brand assets. Analytics & General Marketing Support● Track social media, email, website, and campaign performance and provide recommendations based on results. ● Stay current with digital marketing trends, social platforms, emerging technologies, and AI-assisted marketing tools. ● Collaborate with the Marketing Communications Manager and other CAC staff on organizational priorities and perform other marketing duties as needed. Qualifications ● Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, English, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. ● 2–4 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field. ● Experience developing content and managing social media platforms, email marketing, and digital campaigns. ● Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and visual storytelling skills. ● Experience with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress or another CMS, email marketing platforms, and social media management tools such as Hootsuite. ● Familiarity with Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, SEO, and digital advertising. ● Experience creating photography, short-form video, and other digital content. ● Comfort using AI-assisted content and design tools such as ChatGPT, Canva AI, or Adobe Firefly. ● Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently. ● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a creative, fast-paced environment. ● Experience in an arts, cultural, nonprofit, or community organization is preferred. Additional Requirements ● Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for performances, events, and other CAC activities. ● Reliable transportation for occasional local/regional travel. ● Proficiency with Google Workspace and standard office technology.● Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Physical Requirements Work is primarily performed at a computer and requires extended periods of sitting, typing, and viewing a screen. The position may occasionally require standing, walking throughout the facility, organizing materials, bending, and lifting up to 35 pounds.Compensation Salary: $24-26/hour depending on experience.
