Pay Range: $52,000-$62,000/yr. (Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and internal equity.)

We are currently seeking a Marketing & Business Development Coordinator to join our team in our Columbus, Ohio office. This full-time position is a member of the Business Development Department and plays an integral role in supporting the firm's marketing, communications, business development, and client engagement initiatives.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Marketing & Business Development Coordinator provides marketing, communications, event planning, and business development support to the firm's attorneys, practice groups, and Business Development Department. This role is responsible for coordinating seminars, webinars, client events, marketing campaigns, digital content, and special projects while helping ensure the successful execution of strategic business development initiatives across the firm.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, customer service focused, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced professional services environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Seminar and Event Management
  • Coordinate and facilitate all aspects of internal and client-facing events, seminars, webinars, networking functions, and business development programs.
  • Manage event logistics, including venue selection, contract negotiations, catering, room setup, audiovisual requirements, and event materials.
  • Coordinate invitations, email marketing campaigns, registration management, name badges, attendee communications, and post-event follow-up.
  • Prepare and distribute event materials, handouts, presentations, and supporting resources.
  • Manage continuing education credit submissions and required filings, where applicable.
  • Coordinate webinar technology, presentation platforms, and event technology needs.
  • Maintain event planning checklists and track event metrics and ROI reporting.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of firm-hosted programs and events.
Marketing and Business Development Support
  • Execute website updates, blog postings, email marketing campaigns, and other content marketing initiatives.
  • Support the firm's social media, digital marketing, and communications efforts.
  • Coordinate marketing and business development projects for practice groups, industry teams, and attorneys.
  • Assist with the development and distribution of marketing materials, announcements, invitations, and promotional content.
  • Research industry trends, market opportunities, associations, sponsorships, and business development opportunities.
  • Negotiate with trade associations, vendors, and service providers to maximize the firm's marketing investments and return on sponsorship opportunities.
  • May serve as the primary liaison for assigned practice groups, committees, or industry teams by coordinating meetings, events, follow-up activities, and action items.
  • Coordinate the purchase, customization, and distribution of client appreciation gifts and related outreach initiatives.
Technology and Database Support
  • Serve as a key departmental resource for marketing technology platforms and systems.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the firm's website content management system, blog platforms, customer relationship management (CRM) database, email marketing platform, and related marketing technologies.
  • Assist with contact database maintenance, list management, and reporting activities.
  • Support attorneys and business development team members with technology tools used for marketing and client engagement efforts.
Special Projects
  • Assist the Business Development Department with strategic initiatives, special projects, and firm-wide marketing campaigns.
  • Provide administrative and project coordination support for both short-term and long-term departmental objectives.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, firm leadership, and professional staff to support business development goals and client service initiatives.
  • Demonstrate sound professional judgment and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of work.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related field required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in marketing, communications, business development, public relations, event management, or a related role required.
  • Professional services or legal industry experience preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to effectively support both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of website content management systems, email marketing platforms, CRM databases, and social media channels.
  • Ability to interact professionally with attorneys, clients, vendors, and team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize competing assignments.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Experience coordinating events, webinars, and marketing campaigns preferred.
  • Ability to travel occasionally between firm offices and attend firm-sponsored events as needed.
