Marketing and Creative Project Lead

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
Summary Statement
The Marketing and Creative Project Lead is a highly organized, proactive, and creatively minded professional responsible for bringing marketing projects from concept through completion. This role keeps projects organized and moving forward, manages deadlines and deliverables, and ensures that all marketing materials are polished, on-brand, visually strong, and accurate. The ideal candidate combines excellent project management and communication skills with a strong eye for graphic design, photography, and visual storytelling. This individual does not need to be a graphic designer or photographer but must have strong creative sensibility and be comfortable providing thoughtful feedback on design, photography, video, and written content.
Responsibilities
Marketing Project Management
- Own and manage multiple marketing projects from kickoff through completion.
- Build and maintain project timelines, deadlines, task lists, and deliverables.
- Keep projects moving forward and proactively identify potential delays or roadblocks.
- Hold internal team members, vendors, and partners accountable to agreed-upon deadlines.
- Follow up consistently and professionally when deliverables are late or incomplete.
- Coordinate between creative, marketing, leadership, and external partners as needed.
- Ensure all necessary assets and approvals are in place before projects move forward.
Creative and Visual Quality Control
- Review marketing materials with a strong eye for design, composition, consistency, and brand standards.
- Select and curate photography that best represents the brand, project, or campaign.
- Provide thoughtful feedback on graphic design, photography, video, layouts, and other visual assets.
- Understand what makes an image feel polished, compelling, and appropriate for the brand.
- Help ensure creative assets are cohesive across campaigns and marketing channels.
Copy Editing and Proofreading
- Proofread marketing materials for spelling, grammar, punctuation, consistency, and accuracy.
- Edit and refine marketing copy while maintaining the intended voice and message.
- Catch errors and inconsistencies before materials are published or sent to clients, customers, or the public.
- Ensure names, dates, details, links, and other important information are accurate.
Photo and Video Asset Management
- Organize and maintain the organization's photo and video library.
- Review, edit, categorize, rename, and organize visual assets so they are easy to find and use.
- Identify the strongest and most relevant photos and videos for marketing projects.
- Maintain a consistent and logical file structure and naming system.
- Help establish and maintain best practices for storing and managing creative assets.
- Keep the library clean, current, and free of unnecessary duplicates.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in marketing, creative project management, marketing operations, or a related field.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard for quality.
- A strong eye for graphic design, photography, composition, and visual presentation.
- Excellent proofreading and copy-editing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Confidence following up with others and holding team members, vendors, and partners accountable to deadlines.
- A proactive, solution-oriented approach with the ability to anticipate needs and take action without always being asked.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and remain calm while managing multiple moving pieces.
- Comfort working with photo, video, and other digital asset libraries.
- Familiarity with tools such as Trello, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Dropbox, Air, or similar platforms is a plus.
- A collaborative attitude and the confidence to speak up respectfully when work does not meet the expected standard.
- Organized without being rigid, creative without needing to be the designer, and detail-oriented without losing sight of the big picture.
- Strong ownership and follow-through, with sound judgment about what looks good, reads well, and feels on-brand.
Physical Demands
This position is basically sedentary with some walking, standing, stooping, and lifting required. Occasional lifting of objects weighing in excess of 20 pounds.
