Turn this role into an interview — a resume and cover letter built around what this employer wants.
IMPACTdmv is seeking a Marketing & Communications Intern to help tell our story across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube. The role blends remote work with in-person event coverage in Prince George's County, including some evenings and Saturdays.
You will build a real portfolio with performance data, and you’ll receive mentorship from our Executive Director. You will publish 5–7 posts weekly, shoot and edit short-form video, and craft captions that feel human, not press
You know how to make people stop scrolling. We have something worth stopping for.
If you are the person your friends ask to edit their videos, if you notice when a brand's captions are lazy, if you have opinions about hooks and pacing and which sound is already played out, this role was written for you.
IMPACTdmv is a Prince George's County nonprofit that helps young people get into college and into careers. Our students have earned more than $30 million in scholarships and intern at places most felt were out of reach. That story is real, and right now it is under-told. You will own how it gets told across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube.
This role is hybrid, and we want to be direct about it. Most of your week is remote and self-scheduled. But the best content we have ever made was made in the room: a student's face when the offer comes in, a club meeting or event, a packed workshop, a parent reaction at a showcase. You cannot pull that off a Zoom recording. We need you physically present at our events, camera in hand, including some weekday evenings and Saturday mornings.
What You'll Do
What You'll Walk Away With
A real portfolio of published work across five platforms with performance data attached; documented growth metrics you can cite in an interview; professional development; structured weekly mentorship with our Executive Director covering your work, your analytics and your career questions; introductions into our partner network of schools, council offices and corporate partners across the DMV; and creative ownership.

Apply via LinkedIn, Handshake, or email info@impactdmv.org with the subject line “Marketing & Communications Intern — [Your Name]” and send: (1) your resume; (2) links to 2–3 pieces of content you made — a TikTok, a Reel, a carousel, an edit; it does not need to be professional work; (3) 5-7 sentences on why this work matters to you.
