Job summary

BKV Corporation in Denver, CO, seeks a Market Risk Analyst (Gas & Power) to monitor exposures across physical and financial natural gas and power trading portfolios. You will provide independent risk oversight, ensure activity aligns with risk limits, and deliver timely insights to trading desks and executive management.

The role interfaces with Commercial, Accounting, Credit, Treasury, and Audit, upholding integrity and transparency in risk reporting. Hybrid work options may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, or a related technical field.
• 5 to 7 years of market risk, quantitative analysis, trading analytics, or related experience in natural gas and/or power markets.
• Strong understanding of physical and financial products.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily MTM results, positions, and exposure for natural gas and power portfolios across hubs, zones, ISOs/RTOs, and regional basis markets.
• Produce and distribute risk reports that capture exposures by location, product, tenor, and strategy.
• Validate forward curves (price, volatility, discounting) for natural gas and power.
• Analyze P&L drivers including price moves, shape changes, load forecasts, generation outages, and congestion patterns.
