ISO New England Inc. is seeking a Senior/Lead Scientist to advance power market design, optimization, and operations research across ISO markets. You will develop models, analyze market designs, and prototype solutions to support clean energy transition.
The role requires a Master’s or Ph.D. in a related field, 5+ years of experience, and proficiency with CPLEX/GUROBI and Java/Python. Hybrid work with relocation assistance offered.
The Market Solutions & Optimization Technology group performs design, modeling and analysis work for ISO markets; applies advanced optimization technology to ISO problems; and conducts interdisciplinary research in power system economics, optimization and engineering. The group provides a unique opportunity to work on fundamental and innovative solutions to challenging industry problems. We work closely with engineers and economists across multiple ISO departments and collaborate with various external research entities. As a member of this group, you will play a vital role in improving the ISO's markets, operations and planning, and your work will help shape the horizon of power industry.
As a scientist in this group, you will apply knowledge and skills from a wide range of fields including mathematical optimization, economic theory and power system engineering to tackle major challenges in ISO's markets, operations and planning. You will also analyze the problems, design innovative solutions, develop prototypes and oversee the implementation.
The expected salary range for this position is $130,000 - $165,000 per year.
