About the role
DESRI seeks a resourceful individual to join its team as a market operations manager or senior manager. This person will play a key role in analyzing market scheduling, conducting analyses, developing & implementing market strategies, and performing financial calculations. The successful candidate will be part of a small, inclusive, highly skilled team responsible for supporting DESRI’s portfolio of solar, wind, and battery storage projects in a fast-paced environment that values collaboration, thoughtful problem solving, and attention to detail.
What you'll do
As an Energy Markets Operation Manager or Senior Manager, you will be responsible for implementation and management of reporting and best practices within DESRI's trading program, monitoring market trends and regulatory changes to optimize strategies and scheduling processes, analyzing market data to identify opportunities and risks associated with scheduling decisions, and conducting reviews of Security Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED) analysis to optimize energy dispatch and ensure grid reliability. The individual in this role will also be expected to perform financial calculations to assess the economic impact of energy transactions and scheduling decisions, develop financial models and forecasts to support strategic planning and decision-making, perform DART and Basis Analysis to evaluate price differentials between various energy markets, and maintain a thorough understanding of the US energy market dynamics, including regulatory frameworks, market structures, and key players. Furthermore, you will be expected to stay updated on market trends, policy developments, best practices related to trading implementation, and emerging technologies impacting the energy sector, and provide insights and recommendations based on market analysis to support business objectives.
Qualifications
The expected annual base salary for this position is $140,000 - $180,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, paid time off, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
