Job description

Careers that change lives start here. Medtronic is a global leader in healthcare technology with a Mission to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life. Our 95,000 employees work across more than 150 countries to put patients first — developing innovative medical technologies that improve the lives of 72+ million patients each year. Your unique talents will help shape the future of healthcare while building a career grounded in purpose, growth, and impact.

A Day in the Life

As one of Medtronic’s three comprehensive portfolios, Neuroscience is dedicated to improving the lives of people living with neurological disorders, spine conditions, and chronic pain. Guided by our Mission to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life, our Cranial & Spinal Technologies (CST) Operating Unit develops and delivers an integrated ecosystem of spinal implants, navigation and robotic guidance systems, advanced imaging, and data-driven planning tools for complex spine and cranial procedures. Platforms such as AiBLE connect these technologies to enhance surgical precision, streamline workflows, and support improved patient outcomes around the world. As a Market Intelligence Analyst within the Market Intelligence organization, you develop and maintain procedure market models across Spine, Advanced Energy, and Enabling Technologies, while supporting global model expansion and standardization. You execute primary and secondary market research to track adoption trends and competitive dynamics, and operationalize customer and technology segmentation to enable digital marketing and Big Picture strategic initiatives. You also define and track Medical Education metrics for new program launches, helping ensure clear measurement of impact and performance. In this role, you support the enterprise market insights strategy by delivering data-driven analyses that inform Marketing, R&D, and Business Development decisions. You provide responsive coverage for investor relations and ad hoc strategic requests, ensuring timely insight delivery across the Operating Unit, Portfolio, and Enterprise. In addition, you own PRM data quality and cleanup efforts in preparation for system consolidation, helping strengthen data integrity and support broader organizational readiness.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Market Modeling Maintain and refresh segment-level market models (procedure volumes, pricing, market size, share, and growth) on the annual planning cycle, documenting methodology and sources Support the deepening of market models in global regions, standardizing structure and definitions Manage syndicated and third-party data sources: validate data, track deliverables, and map vendor categories to internal product hierarchies
  • Research & Competitive Intelligence Execute primary and secondary research to track technology adoption and competitive dynamics Analyze competitor quarterly earnings, product launches, and strategy, and translate the findings into market share and model implications
  • Segmentation & Program Measurement Maintain customer and technology segmentation and package it for digital marketing and strategic initiatives Partner with Marketing and Medical Education to define and track success metrics for programs and new product launches, including the customer data quality needed to measure them
  • Insight Delivery Prepare inputs for quarterly market share and investor relations deliverables on a fixed close calendar Turn analysis into clear written summaries, presentations, and recurring updates for Marketing, R&D, Business Development, and leadership Build and maintain Power BI reports and datasets that make market insights self-service Triage ad hoc requests and deliver answers that state the source, scope, and caveats
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 0 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced Excel skills (modeling, lookups, pivot tables)
Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework or experience in computer science, data science, statistics, or another quantitative field
  • Experience with Power BI and SQL; Snowflake

  • Strong written communication, such as experience writing reports, newsletters, or executive summaries
  • Comfort using AI tools for research and analysis, with the judgment to verify their output
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools, data sources, and subject matter
  • Medical device, healthcare, or life sciences experience; familiarity with spine or neurosurgery
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
