Hy-Vee’s Market Grille Clerk role is a fast-paced, customer-facing position at the store counter where you’ll take orders, ensure product availability, and uphold food safety and quality standards. You’ll work as part of a tight-knit Market Grille team to deliver a warm, welcoming experience for every guest.

No formal education is required; training is provided. Up to 6 months of related food-service experience is a plus, and you’ll operate in a busy store environment with opportunities to learn

Qualifications

• Up to 6 months of related work experience; prior food service experience is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service, greeting customers with a smile, learning their names, and going the extra mile to make every visit a positive one.
• Take customer orders at the Market Grille counter and answer the telephone promptly, providing helpful service including taking product orders.
• Review daily orders, anticipate product needs, and prepare and replenish product as necessary.
• Pull product from the cooler or freezer to prepare for cooking and ensure an adequate food supply is ready and on hand.
• Handle food safely and review the status and appearance of food for freshness at all times.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area throughout your shift.
• Check in product, put product away, and review invoices as needed.
• Run the department register, receive payment, and make change where applicable.
• Remove trash in a timely manner and wash dishes as necessary.
• Price and order product and deliver orders as needed.
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned
• Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines
• Report to work when scheduled and on time
