Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service. Reviews and fills customer orders for the day. Handles food safely and ensures the work area is always clean and neat.

Reporting Relations

Reports to: District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home, Food Service Director, Market Grille Department Manager, Assistant Market Grille Department Manager, Service Managers.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all interactions.
• Greets customers warmly, attempts to learn and use their names.
• Assists customers with locating products, securing out-of-reach items, loading heavy items, and passing along suggestions or requests.
• Answers the phone promptly and courteously, taking customer orders when needed.
• Takes customer orders at the Market Grille counter.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Reviews orders and handles food safely, maintaining cleanliness and freshness.
• Prepares and replenishes food, manages inventory, and ensures adequate supply.
• Processes sales transactions at the register.
• Maintains personal hygiene and adheres to dress code and safety policies.
• Reports to work on time and as scheduled.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

• Washes dishes, orders supplies, prices products, delivers orders, and assists in other store areas as needed.
• Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and deal with concrete variables.
• Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and demonstrated instructions.

Education and Experience

No formal education required; six months or less of related work experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and less frequently for other tasks.
• Visual and physical activities including climbing, balancing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions

Typically conducted in a store environment with exposure to noise, equipment, chemicals, and temperature extremes. Must meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.

Equipment Used

Kitchen tools and equipment including slicers, grills, fryers, dishwashers, registers, ovens, rotisseries, knives, label makers, and company vehicles.
