Hy-Vee Inc. is hiring Market Grille Clerks to provide prompt, friendly customer service and take accurate orders at the counter. You will review orders, prepare products, and ensure freshness while maintaining a clean work area in a fast-paced store kitchen environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to safety standards, and excellent customer experiences. Training is provided, with an anticipated starting wage of $13.00–$15.60/hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• No education requirement; training provided to succeed.
• Six months or less of similar work experience; prior food service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service, greeting customers with a smile and learning their names.
• Take customer orders at the Market Grille counter and answer the telephone promptly, providing helpful service.
• Review daily orders, anticipate product needs, and prepare and replenish product as necessary.
• Pull product from the cooler or freezer to prepare for cooking and ensure adequate food supply.
• Handle food safely and review the status and appearance of food for freshness at all times.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area throughout your shift.
• Run the department register, receive payment, and make change where applicable.
• Price and order product and deliver orders as needed.
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
