Qualifications

• No education requirement; training provided.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience; prior food service experience is a plus.
• Able to greet customers by name, learn preferences, and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service, greeting customers with a smile, and making each visit positive.
• Take customer orders at the Market Grille counter and answer the telephone promptly, offering helpful service.
• Review daily orders, anticipate product needs, and prepare and replenish products as necessary.
• Pull product from the cooler or freezer to prepare for cooking and ensure adequate food supply is ready and on hand.
• Handle food safely and review the status and appearance of food for freshness at all times.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area; operate the department register, receive payment, and make change as applicable.
• Price and order product and deliver orders as needed; work with coworkers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Report to work on schedule and adhere to Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines.
