Purpose of the Job

The Market Development Manager (MDM) is responsible for executing the AirCare strategy within Owens Corning Air Distribution. The MDM will drive program growth by developing and maintaining strong relationships internally and externally, increasing sales volume through greater awareness and consideration among contractors, and identifying market opportunities. The role includes driving ProCat usage, understanding the in-home sales process for HVAC contractors, and training them to expand their attic insulation and flex duct retrofit businesses. Key responsibilities also include managing contractor relationships, reporting in the OCConnect portal, and collaborating with the Area Sales Manager’s distribution strategy in key regions.

Reporting and Travel

The MDM reports to the Business Development Leader, AirCare & Flexible Duct Media, and coordinates with Area Sales Managers and Marketing. Travel is required up to 60-70%, primarily in Florida and the Gulf Region.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Know the HVAC Contractor
    • Understand market dynamics and trends
    • Identify contractor values, challenges, and opportunities
    • Develop and maintain relationships with strategic contractors
  2. Execute the AirCare Strategy
    • Collaborate with sales and marketing to identify focus areas
    • Host and deliver contractor training for the AirCare program
    • Support distribution relationships to facilitate contractor success
    • Engage with marketing and sales teams to address contractor demand
    • Participate in joint sales calls and industry events
  3. Training and Development
    • Serve as a subject matter expert for HVAC contractor training
    • Develop and deliver trainings to promote ProCat and duct retrofit success
    • Train distribution partners when needed
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of customer-facing experience in residential building products or HVAC industry
Preferred Experience and Skills
  • Relationship-building with contractors and entrepreneurs
  • Experience influencing without direct authority
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Knowledge of contractor profitability and building science
  • Commitment to safety standards
