Job summary

Arrow Components is seeking a Market Development Engineer to support customers’ technical needs around embedded processors and ARM Cortex-based cores. The role blends engineering leadership with strategic sales support across design and supplier networks.

The candidate will drive design-wins, champion ROI, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Hybrid work arrangement and participation in ArrowEDGE programs are expected. A strong background in embedded Linux/Android is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related experience with a 4-year degree, or 5 years with advanced degree.
• Experience in software/design engineering or Field Application Engineering.
• Exposure to embedded processors and ARM Cortex-based cores.

Responsibilities

• Champion return on engineering investment and drive demand through engineering content.
• Support customers with technical leadership and solution selling.
• Collaborate with sales across pre- and post-sales to promote demand creation.
• Attend supplier trainings and participate in strategic branch meetings and QBRs.
• Build relationships with suppliers and customers, manage expectations, and track progress on initiatives.
• Participate in ArrowEDGE initiatives and organize engineering customer events.
• Note: compensation plan includes variable OTE aligned with sales goals.

Job Description

Market Development Engineer will be primarily responsible for supporting customers’ technical needs around Qualcomm’s embedded processors. In addition, the ideal candidate should also have a strong background in ARM-based multi-core application processor solutions (32-bit and 64-bit).

What You'll Be Doing

• Responsible for utilizing an advanced understanding of the customer needs and technical leadership expertise to champion return on engineering investment.
• Drive demand creation by maximizing Arrow content on designs. Understand customer needs and leverage Arrow’s engineering and design services resources to facilitate solutions for customers. Apply technical knowledge to influence designs utilizing solution selling, resources, and strategies.
• Partner with the sales team across pre‑and post‑sales activities, providing technical support and consulting to promote demand creation. Technical calibrations & research with sales & other Arrow depts. & Suppliers in support of customer design. Champion return on engineering investment, design win priorities, initiatives, and promotions by obtaining buy‑in and support from sales.
• Attend supplier trainings in person and via conference calls.
• Manage supplier and customer expectations by building and developing relationships, keeping stakeholders up to date on activities, plans, and progressing towards initiatives. Identify key relationships amongst decision makers within suppliers and customers.
• Attend and actively participate in strategic branch meetings and QBR. Develop and drive strategic technical plans by supplier line or customer solutions. Participate in ArrowEDGE initiatives through branch training and customer calls. Organize engineering customer events.
• This job profile requires the assignment and participation in a sales compensation plan. A portion of OTE will be variable and tied to specific sales‑related goals as set forth by Arrow.

What We're Looking For

• Prior experience in software engineering, design engineering, Field Application Engineering function or similar.
• Experience with embedded processors such as NXP i.MX Series, Qualcomm Snapdragon Series, TI Sitara Series, Mediatek, Rockchip or other based on Cortex ARM A‑series cores.
• Proficiency with High Level Operating Systems (HLOS) such as embedded Linux and Android and associated development tools.
• Guides others in resolving complex issues in specialized areas based on existing solutions and procedures.
• Serves as an expert within own discipline.
• Serves as a resource for best practices/quality on functional teams or projects.
• Trains/mentors junior staff.

Experience / Education

Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a 4‑year degree; or 5 years and an advanced degree; or equivalent experience.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid: 1 day in office / 4 days remote or on the road.

Annual Hiring Range/Hourly Rate

$91,900.00 - $152,020.00

Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. The pay ratio between base pay and target incentive (if applicable) will be finalized at offer.
